Hopefuly that was an exageration because if he was four cars on you there is no way in hell you would have been able to regain 4 cars on him, ESPECIALY with two people in your car.

At most he would have been 1-2 cars ahead and even thats pushing it.

I am not trying to be a dick or a fanboy but its just a simple fact in racing. 99-01 Cobras aren't the fastest cars in the world by no means but they shine from a roll do to the 4v motor. His car had the advantage in the race even more so with your two passengars. I just can't beleive that everyone here races that shitty of drivers. Even to gain two cars from 40-100 on a car thet gets the jump is extreamly hard if you dont have a drasticaly faster car.

noooooo thats not what i meant.....when we started racing he was already 4 cars ahead of me before hand. I didnt know he was going to race me. So once he stepped on it I did too. The race begun with him 4 cars ahead of me and ended almost exactly 4 cars ahead of me.

Sounds good. Why don't we run them before and after you put the pulley and exhaust on, that way you'll have a good idea of what kind of gains you got from them? Shoot me a PM and we'll work something out.

I give you props for keeping up with him man, people flamed on me when I said I raced an 02 gt with a kennybell set up on it and he only had a fender on me. but it is what it is.

A KB GT is a completly different beast than an 01 Cobra. That GT would walk a 99-01 Cobra HARD and depending on boost walk a 03-04 Cobra pretty easlily.

guys don't you get it? whenever someone races a cobalt they miss 2nd and 3rd. It's a mod chevy put on the car, it's called GM-TEC.

Actually the '03-04 Cobra bodystyle was a little more agressive with a different front fascia and back end compared to the 99-01 Cobra. With real good driving you can get the '03-04 Cobra in the mid 12's but it's very hard to launch those beasts with that IRS.

What mods did you friends 5.7 GTO A4 have?? I also have a '04 A4 but I have a few mods. I'd love to see how I'd do against a Stage 2 Cobalt SS.

I raced a guy at the track who claimed to have a Stage 3 Cobalt SS and I got him pretty good out the hole and beat him but he said he was pulling pretty good towards the end of the track. I still have LT's/Mid-pipes that I'm getting in the next few months.

well if you running from a roll its not really that hard to hit 110 or maybe even 130. maybe you guys just don't have the work I have down to my car to keep up with them and who didn't say my car is in the 12's?

Is your car in the 12s? Whats your time, 60', 1/8 ET, 1/8MPH, 1/4 ET, 1/4MPH? These things will tell us if you could even possibly run with a Blown GT.

I don't think you get what everyones trying to say, it doesn't matter if your car can hit 110 or 130, it matters how fast you can get there. Hell my Lincoln can prolly hit 110 but it would take along time. Trap speed tells you how fast your car is from a roll and trust me a blown GT will out trap you.

Also a KB is great from any speed roll because it makes full boost right away.

PLEASE come race my lowly GTO then. I'm about where a stock Cobra is, so you should have no problem "keeping up" with me either....AND I'm in your area...hell, I'll race you and herndon high SS at the same time, we'll do it 3 wide like the old days.

I'd also like to know what speed you raced from, that will tell me a WHOLE LOT about the outcome. Let's just say I'm VERY familiar with GM autos

i hope you realize you just made yourself look like the biggest idiot in the world. Trap speed = not from a roll. Trap speed = speed you cross the 1320 at from a dig, and trust me you are nowhere near what termi's trap. Not even close. you would have to be running a 2.6/2.5 and ALL the bolt ons to keep up with a termi from any roll or dig... and you're right my car doesn't have the kind of work yours does, my car was faster than yours before i even put the blower on...hell stock it was probably faster.

Yeah, there are differences with the front and rear bumpers, hood, spoiler, seats, shift knob, rocker panels, wheels, IRS, heads, etc... but they're the same general bodystyle, which is what I meant. The '99 V6 is the same "bodystyle" as the '04 Cobra... but they certainly have some noticeable differences.

And yes, I know they can go mid-12's. Evan Smith of MM&FF magazine went 12.4, but like I said, with "decent driving", they run high 12's.

My friend's '03 Cobra put down 371whp and went 12.9@113 bone stock w/ a ~2.2 60'.
