where is all your "personal experience" coming from husker? I'd bet combined the 3-4 of us arguing with you have more experience with mustangs than the rest of this forum.

LS2 C6 and a Terminator is a driver's race.

LS3 C6 vs a GT500/Terminator has the C6 ahead by 3-4 cars at the end of the quarter mile.

i agree with the first and second. the gt500 with equal drivers will walk a termi though, so it will be a bit closer to the ls3, still behind tho.

Evan Smith ran 12.2 but that’s not the average. A lot of skilled drivers still don't own them but the ones that do have pulled 12.4s pretty consistently.

they vary MASSIVELY. I've driven one since they came out and didn't have alot of time with it so i didnt really get to see how it launched, but from what i hear it just spins and spins like nobody's business. Some people have run low 12's @ 115-117 (evan smith ran a 12.2@116-117 with i think like a 2.2 60'), some people run low 13's spinnin like crazy. Until they do a couple mods it is really a toss up all depending on the driver. once they mod though...buh bye all. Your car wasn't runing mid 11s or he wasn't stock because from a 40 roll with my dad drving the Shelby I'll walk his ass HARD. He don't hang around at all, I'm just gone.

I guess the one thing I've figured out from this thread is that a blown V8 is usually faster than a blown 4-banger...(but not always )....

well it was right before it popped, so who knows what was going on. Either way it was faster than i expected it to be. Maybe it wasn't stock or i was already losing power, i dont know but from all the bs about them being so over rated it was much quicker htan i expected. Still ended up 7-8 cars behind me pretty quick, but it stayed for a sec and i didnt just run away from it like i expected to.

Yea I’m not saying they are slow. Ours is a blast to drive and it never feels like you are going as fast as you are. I've run through a couple gears and would look down and would be hitting a 130.

So basically in this thread if you don't suffer from Mustang fanboyism you suffer from LS3 superiority complex.

Sorry Musang guys but the LS2 C6 kills the 03/04 and GT500 period. Even several Mustang Forums agree on that why are you guys different? It's pretty dumb to think a 03/04 is equal to a C6 to begin with. The GT500 is actually the only one of the two that will keep up with the C6. It's fat ass and brick like shape keep it slower.


As for you Onyxd04Redline get with the program, on Dyno's the LS3 looks nice but LS2's still hold all of the stock 1/4 records. It's abslolutly stupid to think 30hp is 3-4 cars in a race too........

It's not even close to being 30 hp. LS3 C6's are dynoing in the 380-390rwhp range bone stock. My 08 dyno'd at 391 which is about 450 at the crank and i didn't even have the NPP exhaust.

haha who would buy a regular c6 come on when you can have a cobalt LS for a 1/2 the price...jk...btw I will only believe dyno numbers if i see papers till then. blah blah blah. yeah(around 3700lbs) 03 04 cobra's and GT500(over priced Turd around 4300lbs) will be a good race for a c6(3200lbs). Still your going to have your hands full with both....your spending 45,000 on a vette it better beat something other than a stock mustang gt. It would be cool if they sold the S/c of the LS9 from GM individually. then you could put it on a ls3 vette. LS2 vs LS3 still good race.

You can get a brand new 08 C6 for under 40K these days.

Would you care to tell me what 360 + 30 is?

A M6 LS2 puts down around 350whp to 360, LS3 around 380-390 looks like 30hp to me.

Once again like I said before LS2 is still #1 on the list.

That and the only way to get a 2008 for under $40,000 is to ******* steal it or drive around with a Exotic Rentals sticker on the back

I didn't need the options of the 2LT and 3LT option package's. Also the C6 base coupe with just the 1LT is 3115lbs. Going to 2LT adds a good 40-45lbs. If i had to do it all over again i would have went with the 1LT with Z51 and M6.

1LT with Z51 is what the performance minded people buy.

Most don't give a damn if it heats your ass, tells you how to get there or if they need to look down at a speedo.

If all cars are well driven the C6 will emerge as the victor. It's power/weight advantage is just hard to overcome with a 03/04 Cobra.

oh my god. What do you drive? i hope you realize the gt500 weighs about 3900 lbs and makes a solid 100whp more than an ls2. That's a damn even power to weight ratio in fact the gt500 has a slight p/w ratio ADVANTAGE. the only time an ls2 is gonna pull remotely hard on a gt500 is up top.

Have you ever been in a GT500, Im going to guess not. The guys on the board say a C6 is better than a GT500 just because they are nicer cars inside and out. When it comes to straightline performance its really dead even. C6s drive nicer, better MPG, more comfortable and handle awsome. YOu still need to take into consideration your comparing a 2 seater sportscar to a 4 seater muscle car/ pony car. THe GT500 wasn't made to compete with the Vette it was made to compete with the SRT8 models and the upcoming Camaros.

People that hate on the GT500s are people that haven't been in one and/or couldn't afford the mark up on them simple as that. PLus everyone acts like the GT500 can't be modded, it takes $3500-$4000 to take that 500hp car to a 750rwhp monster. At the end of the day the GT500 is better than a 03/04 Cobra in every way.
