intense stage 3 and gm stage 2 have been compared in a thread and the cars were dead even so stage 2 with a catback doesnt mean you can take a srt 8 charger there is a guy on the charger website that ran a 12.677 @ 110.45 STOCK and a stage 2 cobalt with exhaust is nothing better than a 13.6 at best

Back to the people whacking it over the 03-04 Cobra. I would really like to see this miracle 12.4 run in a stock 03-04. This sounds like typical SVTFORUMS bullshit.

It's funny how fast the 03-04 Cobra is supposed to be but my 12.8 second Camaro SS had no problems keeping up with them.

Now back to the original post topic.

The best run ever in a stock 2004 Cobra was 12.6 by Evan Smith during a Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Test.

I by no means worship Evan Smith like many Ford lovers but the claims of better times in a stock Cobra come from internet only sources which are about 1.67% reliable. It's kind of like all of the stock times people pull out of there asses for SRT-Whatever vehicles.

yeah the srt-8's have a manu/automatic "tiptronic" or whatever you want to call it. And it was unmistakably an SRT-8.....I know this because it had the spoiler, the hood, the SRT-8 badge in the rear and the badass rims the SRT-8's come with.

A question for you all, what launches better from a dig, a RWD or a FWD? Perfect, and it's safe to say that if I was to have raced this car from a DIG I would have gotten my ass slapped....however, we were on a roll. Which I believe, would even the playing field....or maybe I'm just a little crazy.

Regardless, no bs, it happened. Blame it on whatever you want. Neither of us are professional drivers, he was in a bad sectin of gear etc etc whatever....Regardless of any other circumstances, we were neck and neck from around 50ish to around 100. Then the guy rolled down his window, asked me what I had done to my car, I told him it's supercharged and I loved His SRT-8, we gave each other the thumbs up, and went on our ways.

I posted this race a lllooooooonnnnnnnggg time ago, if you'd like to search it.

i don't think anyone has been able to absolutely prove anything passed a 12.6 on stock terminator down to the rubber, but there have been more than a few people running 12.6's and 12.7's, so it's pretty safe to say the car is capable, plus if you have ever driven one, it is definately a mid-high 12 car. the irs kinda holds it back a bit from a dig tho, so times are pretty incosnsistany kinda like with the gto.

well i mean its not like these ppl who run the magazine times are very fimilar with the cars...i just had a buddy run a 13.6 in a 2006 pontiac gxp which was tested as a low 14 to 13.9...so its deff possible to beat out the stated times..ive personally seen a C6 Z06 run better then a 11.7.

yup, most testers get a few hours with the car. it doesn't really matter how amazing of a driver you are, somebody who is a great driver that has a year with the car at the strip every weekend will end up running better times than a pro that has the car for 2 hours.

problems with wheel hop is what limits the cobras the trap close to 110 stock. And to the poster who said a zo6 has more power than the cobra, they actually put down more power often then zo6's stock.

Wheel hop has nothing to do with trap speed if anything the delay in the 60ft adds to the trap speed.

And lets go over this again since you seem to be missing the picture

A) A 405HP LS6 Z06 usually sees 380+ at the wheels
B) Cobra 3750lbs < Corvette Z06 3200lbs

Is it becoming clear to you now?

zo6's usally see 360 at the wheels tool. the cobra's were underrated and usally see around 370. but they are heavy which is why they get walked. And for the higher 60's because of wheelspin how come when i had a 2.4 i trapped 105 and got a 2.0 i nearly trapped 108.

the 03/04 cobras have a much more attractive torque curve than the ls6's, and the terminators were very underrated.
