06 S/C vs 300c SRT-8
#126
I doesn't matter what the Cobra's TQ/HP curves look like or what they dyno at. Simply put 9 times out of 10 a C5 Z06 will walk a Cobra.
And the late model LS6 Z06 will se more than 360WHP, and most Cobras will see a little more than 370WHP.
Many more factors affect the Z06 vs Cobra outcome anyway. Things like gearing and rear mounted transaxles making weight distribution/transfer way better.

So I'm coming home on the freeway about 30 min ago....i see this black srt-8 300c lined up with a bumble bee charger r/t and theyre screwin around...so i decide to join in on the action....since this freeze warning across california has came in its really made my car pull sooo much harder...so i hear the exhaust on this srt-8 so i figure that this guy has at least something done which makes it more intresting for me....so his ghetto ass girl in the passenger seat rolls the window and starts yellin...."you dont want none of this!" over and over....i tell her that i only need 4 cylinders to beat theyre ass so we line up on the freeway at about 80 (which as u guys know is primo rpm range for us on a thrid gear pull) so we honk and go....i get a good pull at about 2 cars...i hit into 4th gear and he comes up about half a car and we hold all the way up to about 140 and then he lets off...we do this acouple of times from thrid gear and the results were the same...so i myself and super stooked that i smashed on this *******....i lined back up with him for a 4th time but i wanted to go from 2nd gear but the guy just shook his head and his girlfriend wasnt sayin ****. never underestimate the power of 4
o yea about that r/t....he didnt even bother coming near me after i was done with the srt-8

p.s. i know how heavy they are for all of those who would argue power to weight.
i wanna see some videos of all this stuff from you guys, otherwise i'm calling b.s.

hopefully I have a video on the way. And how is this not possible. The SRT-8 runs low 13 second 1/4's... I've beat cars running 12.8 from a roll. My friend with the SRT-8 says it really falls on it's face and seems to lose power around 80mph as well.
SRT-8
425 CRANK hp - 4200 lbs... probably 4500 with 2 passengers
Power to weight ratio: .09444
Cobalt SS/SC
With his mods:
300 CRANK hp - 1 passenger= 3000lbs.
Power to weight ratio: .1

b.t.w the cobalt weighs 2911 dry so with driver and all the fluids i think its a bit more than 3000 lbs.

SRT-8s have shown to dyno more than their 425 crank hp suggests (they are underrated too) and you are only guessing at his.

DRY weight of an SRT is right about 4200. ASSUMING that the GIRL and THE DRIVER and THE GAS weigh a combined weight of 300 pounds... i calculated that at 4500lbs. More than likely the dude weighs 200+ and she weighs 130 PLUS gas weight, and that thing has a 19 gallon tank... with 15 gallons of gas that adds a little more than 100 lbs. So that is more like 4600~lbs. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt an say he's got 450 horse. Would you like me to refigure my numbers now?
450hp @ 4600lbs : .0978
And just like the the SRT dynos more than they are rated... so does the SS... I said 300 crank hp... MINE has 325, and I have almost IDENTICAL mods as him. Lemme throw some extra weight on the Coby for ya.
Cobalt:
325hp @ 3250lbs : .1
Any more questions/Comments? As soon as the roads dry, and my buddy pulls out the SRT... I'll have a video of a Dig, 35mph, and 75 mph race. Don't worry, I won't disappoint.

Understandable, but a few pounds won't make that big of a difference. If the SS weighed in at 3200 lbs... that's still a power-weight of .09375... which is pretty damn close. At that point you have to think about gearing... and the fact that the SRT will lose more power through the drivetrain since it is a RWD.
Guessing at what? Power to Weight. Please little boy, don't call me out on that... it is simple math. Power to weight is power divided by weight. Not that I don't believe it, but something isn't fact just because it's posted on the web. Of all people, those on this forum should know that.

Well Im not saying sreet racing is ok but maybe you should find out how you would do against one before claim that another member's story is false without trying it first hand.
