I saw one crack 14.9 in an older auto publication, cannot remember what. I doubt that is normal. I played with several lightly modded ones in my SS/SC and to my surprise it was never close at any time!! Should be a drivers race!!

Have someone trail behind you and tape it then. I want a camera mount like Mercury has with the strong ass suction cup. I just need to get a camera first lol.

well actually my roommate has a 2003.5 model and i drive it all the time. he has a bunch of work done to it (BOV, downpipe, intake, boost controller) and its still slow as ***** IMO. turbo lag is CRAP on that car...it produces like 5 hp until 3,000 rpm

Mazdaspeed Protege - 170hp, 160lbs-ft and about 2800lbs.
Cobalt SS - 171hp, 163lbs-ft and about 2800lbs.
It's a drivers race. Pretty sad that they only made 170hp with a Turbo though.

But I'm guessing the Protege version was just a test to see how the performance Mazdaspeed brand would sell. If they decide to release a performance version of the 3, I'm sure it'll be a lot more potent.
