06 SS/SC vs 2000 s2000 and 2003 Mustang GT
My friend got a nice looking s2000 a few weeks back, and has been talkin a lot of ****. I just let him talk while I did my research, and found stock dyno's of both, compared weight, and ect... He wouldnt race me for a long time, but I finally got him to do a roll with me.
We started at around 40-45mph then I honked 3 times and before 60 he was back at my rear bumper. Then he just stayed there until around 100mph (I usually dont go so high), then he started to reel me in a bit, then by 120+ he started falling behind just a bit, then we got off it.
Overall, it was pretty close, and I want to go from a dig, but he still trash talks and says he'll smoke me from a dig, but he was quiet for a while when he lost to me, lol.
Then, I raced some cocky guy in a 03 Mustang GT, from the same roll, and pulled a car on him almost instantly, and he stayed 1 car behind me the whole way up to ~120.
I had a good night, so I will go to bed happy. Just makes me think about how fun it will be with Stage 2 very soon!

Not a chance.
13.8 > 14.1.
Trust me, if the dude knows how to launch and keep the car in VTEC, he WILL get raped.
Yea, fixed..Hehe my bad.

most people are.
but every example ive ever seen of a highway race with cobalts and s2000's its very close all the way up.
Of course....naturally the s2000 guys have 15 reasons why the slowbalt was keeping up....
but it seems that once you get away from that RWD > FWD launch...the cobalt is a good match.

here are the stats for a 2000 s2000
2000 Honda S2000 5.5 14.2
the new 06 are faster they run the 13.8.
so its a complete throw up stock for stock.

^^ Yea, his is one of the older, slightly slower years. I want to go from a dig, and I WILL have the camcorder this time, lol. I was pissed that I forgot it.

The s2000 wasn't slower back then, most didn't know how to launch the car. As a matter of fact, AP1 models(2000 - 2003) reved to 9k and had longer gears. AP2 models (2004 - present) rev to 8k, have slighty shorter gears, and a few more pounds of torque.
All in all, the AP2 models pull a slight bit on early models during the first 3 gears, after them, the AP1 models regain ground and they stay side by side the rest of the way.
Also to add, 2006 models came with VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) as for traction.
One more thing, ALL AP2's have a slave cylinder delay vavle to slip the clutch when dumped from 6K+ (VTEC engages at 6K) to lessen drivetrain damage from hard clutch dumps. This delay vavle is removable though.

*****UPDATE*****
Ok, so here it goes. My friend had been talking a lot of **** again, lying and saying he beat me, so last week, I raced him in the S2000 again. I had a passenger and 4 tires in my car(lol, dont ask), he was by himself. We went from a 45 roll again, but this time he slowly pulled about a half a car on me, and it stayed there till 100, then we got off it.
I would like to sum it up. It is a VERY CLOSE RACE stock to stock. It totally depends on the amount of extra weight in the car, and driving.
Now... as for some bad news... This is/was my friends car as of last saturday.
Him and the passenger that was with him are both alive. He has 4 fractures in his cheek bone, and a gash on his neck. He got out of the hospital that night. The girl that was with him was not so lucky... she is in the hospital still, with a big chunk of leg missing. She will be fine.
Now for what happend. My friend was driving down some back swervy roads trying to show off to this girl, and lost control, flipped the car 2-3 times, and slammed in to a power line at ~60mph.

Its a shame to see such a nice car ruined like that, but we are all glad everyone is ok. There were way worse places that it could have happend on that road.
