The reason the 116 is being used is to prevent early combustion due to the heat of compression caused by the 11:1 ratio. If too low of an octane of gas were to be used the gas could ignite before the spark plug ignites it, this will lead to knocking (combustion before the piston has reached the top of its stroke), and this will blow the engine apart when he is putting down those numbers on stock internals. That's why the 116 octane gas comes into play.
My point is what does it matter if the engine makes power with 91 octane or 116 octane. The engine still is making the power. It is like if you guys raced you would cry that the RSX had race gas, it doesn't matter.

no doubt its a tight car, and the k20 is a good motor, but right when you posted those numbers people started comparing them to numbers of motors running pump gas. imo, the two shouldn't be compared. you can compare them i guess, but it is unfair in my opinion as that car is no longer a daily driver, at least with that tune. that is my point, and i think it is valid. cool car no doubt. great numbers and very impressive, but not comparable to pump gas numbers.

NSX faster than 15.5 stock...
S2000 faster than 15.5 stock...
Acura TL faster than 15.5 stock...
All 3 can run with or beat a stock SS/SC
RSX type-S faster than 15.5 stock...
Integra type-R faster than 15.5 stock...
Honda Civic SI faster than 15.5 stock...
Integra GSR faster than 15.5 stock...
ALL NATURALLY ASPIRATED. Funny how when someone defends a car to someone that doesn't respect it or know anything about it, they are flamed and labeled a "Vtec rube" among other things. Educate yourself and it will change your opinion.

Thats about it. So if what you are trying to say is that one is offered standard with a power adder that it is inferior ?
