lets set things stright guys. sti's have a **** ton of lowend torque so you have a better chance if anything of winning from a higher speed, which again is unlikely. i highly doubt a cobalt stg 2 which is some spark plugs would win against a stock sti. a cobalt w/intake and whatnot would not be able to pull on a stock sti. sti does 0-60 in under 5. 06,07 stis do it in 4.5 seconds.1/4 mile in <12.9. anywho it does not take 10k to upgrade a turbo as posted earlier. upgraded turbo, if he was smart hed get himself a gt35r w/antilagg
Cliff notes: it doesnt matter if its a stock sti, you would not beat him unless A) hes trying to eat mcdonalds while shifting or B) he mishifts.
also 2004 is the rawest usdm version of the stis

in your defense, maybe you are just referring to dig races in which you would be completely correct. if you are referring to digs AND rolls, then you are wrong about the stuff that you said. the cobalt has proven itself plenty of times against STi's from a roll. lets face it though, EVO's and STi's own dig races.

at least someone understood.
Im laughing at the fact that you come in here trying to "elighten us" with the truth....and you think stage 2 is spark plugs?
as ive stated before. STI is a dig monster, but if your talkin about highway.....you will have a "WTF" look on your face as a stage 2 I/E cobalt pulls you.

Oh man the last few posts here have been great! This dude doesn't have a clue! Must have been real bad then for my buddy when he downshifted in his fairly stock EVO next to me at 40mph, and when I realized what he was doing I downshifted into 2nd and put 5 cars instantly on him with my current mods. Noooooooo....that wouldn't happen to the beloved EVO or STI though.

i did not state really anything wrong in the point im making, seriously guys i think youre the ones with no clue. not to mention the sti has an upgraded turbo. stis from digs kill, yes. i beleive an sti will easily take a ss, if you think not well.. not much i can do about that. fwd does have the advantage over awd in this case, but like i said 300awhp compared to like <240 at crank at max? fwd helps but not that much.. what you said about traction issues well, he must suck at life. you guys should reconsider at ppointless little drag race and do something that takes skill. go to an autocross and compare standings or race on a fun little twisty road.
wait a minute we talking bout one of these right?
for a second i thought we were talking about evos! cough.cough. they are slower .cough
dude ss vs sti just doesnt compare, different leagues. although it is ones nature to defend the type of car they have. sorry no i dont have an sti.

your STILL making yourself look like an idiot.
Stage 2 with aem dropin and plugs with an ETd........240 at the crank huh.....go look in the 2.0 performance section right now...theres a discussion about a few guys who recently dynoed COMPLETELY STOCK at 229hp AT THE WHEELS.
those mods will put a cobalt at 240-250 at the WHEELS chief.
Keep thinkin these little cobalts have 205hp at the crank.
cuz its funny as **** when you learn it the hard way.
Take your magazine racing and shove it.
dig....you win.
roll....you lose.
end of discussion.

man, magazine numbers do not mean ANYTHING. everyone should know that by now. you cant just pull numbers out of there and sound smart. STi... stock, 300hp at the wheels? not a chance. definitely less. SS... stock, 205hp at the wheels? HELL NO! definitely more. add stage 2 and, POOF, the SS is quite a contender.
and i dont wanna hear all this, "oh well if the STi was cobb stage 2 then it would be all over!!!" the core of the topic is a SS getting mods and being able to hang with the faster cars when they are still in stock form, in which this has been done. this doesnt make the SS a better car, no one here is saying that it is, because the reality of it is... its not.
its fun to beat an STi though!!!

If you want to magazine race go to the newstand and stand around it. If you want to come on and troll...don't and if you want to come on talking trash, spewing wrong figures, and being rude then please...go over to the civic forums...they are good at all of that and you should feel right at home.
As far as your Lambo comment..please show me a stock STI beating a lambo...i think everyone here would love to have you go away and search for that vid, because you would spend the rest of your life searching and not finding, which would translate into you going bye bye.
Go troll somewhere else...or better yet...go take a ride in a stage 2 ss/sc and then come back. But until you know what you are talking about...lets keep the posting of guessing and incorrect statements to a minimum ok.
