ok first thing... mach 1's are mid 13 second stangs... ive got a video of an automatic runnin i believe its 13.6. 03-04 cobras on the other hand is a 12 second stang.. no way even a stage 2 balt is gonna stay with 1.. if uve ever drove 1 then u will know.. i test drove 1 was fixin to trade my balt for it but decided i liked the better gas mileage better. But no i would have to say it was probably 1 of the infamous 99-04 gt mustangs with the cobra pieces on it... best way to tell if they are stopped is to look at the brake calipers, cobras say cobra on them.. coming from an ex mustang man like myself.. 03 cobras 390hp so no way ur touchin those..

hatrickstu i hope u arent trying to say that the car in those pictures is a vortec charged mach 1.. thats the mustang bullitt, as everyone should be able to see the emblem on the back, no rear wing, and the hood of course.. Mach 1's also have the mustang emblem on the side, not gt.. If ur just posting a pic of a random mustang in there sorry for the confusion then, but ur talkin bout a charged mach 1 and showing pics of a bullitt.

The ass end of the cobras from the 99-01 vs 03 are different.. the 99-04 you will see yellow reverse lights on the bottom inside corners.. the 03's do not have this.. just a quick tidbit to tell the difference as they are walking away.

a stock 03 will completely annihiliate a ss/sc.. dont matter if its S2 or stock.

one thing you gotta learn is that not all cars of the same make and model are going to run the exact number. you may have seen a mach 1 run 13.6, which means they are capable of it, by no means is that the average time for those cars. and i agree a s2 cobalt is not going to keep up with an 03-04 cobra

yea the mach 1 that ran 13.6 with an auto which actually barked drive was at the NMRA world finals in bowling green kentucky..Im originally from kentucky bout an hour east of BG. I go there almost every year and watch them race... The mach 1 was stock also, 03 model i think is what he says when he announces it.. ive saw mach 1's run from 13.3 to 13.8 depends on how good the driver was, but the worst 1 i saw was 13.8 at the world finals.. But yea i wasnt tryin to hate on ya or anything, just thought u may have typoed or brain farted about the bullitt.. lol.. no hard feelings..

2002 Mustang Cobra Production Numbers

2002 Cobras
Total: 100
All Cobras for this year were sent to Australia.

Apparently they exist down under.

Yep, that's a Bullitt... a heck of a lot like mine

Oh, and that was probably just a mistake on stu's part w/ the whole Mach 1 thing. [EDIT: Already addressed ]

Actually, the 99/01 Cobras have yellow on the bottom outside corners of the taillights Sorry, just being picky

And yeah, like I said, my friend's bone stock '03 Cobra trapped 113mph. Unless you've got a heck of a lot of mods on an SS/SC, the Cobra is just going to RUN away.

Yes, Ford sent some leftover Cobras to Australia w/ the necessary (and ugly) extra driving lights in the bumper.

the yellow mach 1 i raced here is my evidence. i dont know about all machs though. he was very cocky and had been looking to find me for a while. one day he found me we went from 40 and he was pretty much speechless after the 4-6 car beating he took
4-6 car beating on a mach? Lay down the pot man. Those cars are faster then 99-01 cobras due to better heads. Who the hell posts there 1000 foot time anyways? Lets go 1/4 thanks.

Actually, I believe only the '99 and '01 cobra's have the yellow reverse lights.

A stock mach has 3.55's and traps in the 105-106ish range with a pro driver one trapped 107. I just have a hard time beliving you put 4-5 cars on it.

well in all your guys opinions

i was stopped at a red light next to a supposive "mach 1" and i reved up next to him but he just watched forward

when the light turned green i took off and he lightly took of (without spinning) and punched it

by the time we were at like 60-80 or so was when he slowed down but i had like almost a car on him

i have gm stage 2
injen cai
cti race header and downpipe
and corsa touring exaust

my buddy who loves mustangs said that there was no way i beat a mach 1 and it was probably just a gt with mach1 decals

can i get your opinions on this???

i have not had any personal experience racing SN95 Gen II GTs so i do not know.. but based on what i have read from people then i will say this can highly be likely...

i have only raced a SN95 Gen I GT and i clowned stomped him into the ground (3 cars by 110 starting from about a 20 mph..He didnt want to start from a dig.. go figure?)

The yellow mach stu is referring to is an auto, i believe, and I have no problem believing stu put a hurting on him from a roll. In fact the same guy agreed to a race a long time ago against my buddies GT and never showed. Probably thought his mighty mach was too good to race a lowly GT.........ran in to him at the track a few months later and after seeing our times, he didnt want to race for some reason.

Im a mustang guy, machs are nice but they are far from invinceable. Gears, exhaust and some stickey tires, and they're fun.

Autos dyno less then manual machs and without a Fuddle they are just your average chick car. The one think I like about the mach is the exhaust note its amazing.

They have more free-flowing mufflers than GT's.

I actually prefer the 2V exhaust note better than the 4V. (Aftermarket of course) Call me crazy. Never really compared a stock Bullitt to a stock Mach exhaust note.

CRAZY!!!

Well, true, it's not like either sound way different than the other, and my Bullitt currently sounds pretty dang good, IMO. It's hard to say 2V vs. 4V for sure because there are so many different exhaust setups for each that all have different sounds. But anyway...
