06 Stage II vs. 02 Mustang Cobra
#76
Plenty of Mach 1's have run low 13's, stock. I'd search around @ SVTperformance.com if you want to see some numbers.
Also, I don't doubt that you have beaten Mach's and N/A Cobras and such, my point was just that an SS/SC w/ just S2 shouldn't be "destroying" them. Then there's the possibility of Auto Mach 1's, which would be a few tenths slower, and also the possibility of fakes. It would take a LOT of work to make a GT look convincing as a Mach 1 if you know what to look for, but if you don't they look fairly similar.
Also, this is comparing 1/4-mile times... from a roll would probably help the SS/SC out some.
Finally, yeah, the Typhoon's and Syclone's were pretty sweet. Sleepers for sure. There are quite a few stock Mustangs that are faster now, but those GM turbo cars, trucks, and SUV's were really quick for their time.

I have raced a SVT supercharged Cobra. That thang was sick. Beat him from the line for sure cuz Typhoons will break necks from the line. Once I hit third gear he slowly caught up to me, but we hit about 120 and the 1/4th was already over.

Yeah, given good driving, the Cobra would win in the 1/4, but if you can get the Typhoon off the line well, it's not really easy to get the IRS in the Cobra to hook. If you can, though, you can dip well into the 12's, stock.

Where did you get this info from? Maybe the Mach 1s I beat were just fake ones like alot of Ford guys like to do. Be fake.
Then again I'm easliy a low 13s with my mods. I was a 14.2 stock @ 100mph and now with stage II, exhaust and headers with a good tune I'm prolly right around a 13.4. Trapped at 107-108 mph.
Maybe I should just jump into my STOCK 1993 GMC SUV and smoke some more slow stangs.

i raced a mach 1 w/ a manule from a 40 roll and i think he started in the wrong gear or was just giveing me a head start bc i pulled a car on him and held it for a few seconds then he just blew past me like i had hit the brakes i lost count after he had like 6 cars on me. those things are crazy fast but i think i could have kept it close w/ stg2 and exhaust
i have an 06 ss/sc

well you seem to use alot of english, but you don't seem to have any understanding of it. When you say, and i quote, "stage two airbox mod" it sounds alot like you could just be a ricer who thinks more than the common airbox mod would be called stage 2. Use some commas, they are a useful part of the language you don't know how to use. It's very likely that i know more about your car than you do, so you may want to think first before acting like a jack ass....2.4ss/sc....that is extremely misleading and confusing. do you have a 2.4 stroker? i don't beleive you do. Do you understand that the 2.4 and the ss/sc are totally different cars? im sorry that i have asked you the question maybe twice, but i don't make a mental note when a newbie with a confusing name tells me what he drives.

haha your an idiot if location wasnt under my screen name i would cut you some slack but i guess your too stupid to put 2 and 2 together my name is 2.4SS/SOUTH CAROLINA next time why dont you use your brain before your mouth

That would just be even MORE misleading and would make people (such as myself) beleive that you have a 2.4...then when you say, and i will quote once again, "stage two airbox mod" it sounds like you are just a ricer who thinks going past the usual airbox mod makes it stage 2. Would you care to argue the point that was made instead of some bs point thtat is totally irrelivant? Or do you have no response to what i said before?
dumb ****.

I would think you would stay next to him for 1.2 secs
If you went from 40 - 100 he would have you by 4-5 cars
those terminators were dubbed terminator for a reason

Dude an 03-04 cobra would blow your doors off from a roll or a stop. I ran one right in my power band 2nd gear 40 mph and we both punched it, i stayed next to him for about .5 secs and it was bye bye from there.

The 03/04 Cobra is overated just like the GT500, neither are anything to brag about.
Given they can be made really fast for under $1000 any well modded LSX will kill them.

03-04's can run high 12s bone stock, for some reason i've always seen 99-01 cobras only running high 13s sometimes even low 14s, but mach 1s running low 13s, to high 12s. i dont understand how the mach 1s were consistantly faster than the 99-01 cobras, maybe it was the driver.
