Killed a Golf GTI last week on the interstate. Would have posted sooner, but haven't had the time. I think I embarrassed the kid in front of his girlfriend. Looks like they were a couple of out-of-staters going home from Thanksgiving break.

My thoughts are we need a little more detail. Things like your mods, how the race was won (dig, roll, etc), and what model GTI we're talking about (MKlV or MKV I assume).

not sure. but i was thinking it's et wasn't much different from mine. i just know it was a black newer model GTI and we ran from 3 different 70 mph rolls. i would have loved some vids, but i didn't plan this. we just sorta started messing with each other. i think he would have kept better if he was a better driver. i pulled him pretty fast each time.

MKIV yes, MKV I believe run mid 14s. 200hp, K03 turbo, not that heavy. Sounds like a drivers race for a stock ss/sc.

A good GTI driver could embarrass a not so good stock TC driver on the track, so yeah ease up on the slow car reference...pretty funny though, lol@corollas

the added weight of the gf probably didnt help the GTI. You had no passenger?

That's no joke. From a mid 14 to high 13. GTI's shouldn't be underestimated. I don't think I've met anyone who DOESN'T have a chip in their GTI.

i raced a couple gti's and i'm stock... than i looked at my sideview and the little letters in my sideview for some reason said "Objects in mirror appear to be losing"

I ran a fahrenheit edition of these once. (Basically, a trim package).. Expecting an easy win and it was the closest race i've ever taken part in.. Flagged him down and he said he was "chipped".. so appearently they can pick up some speed with a little tuning.. (or i fail at driving)
