correction. he knows his honda civic SI and thats all he should care about because he doesnt drive anything else. his statement is also 3/4 true. our gears our long thank you saab... but our first gear is so quick... too quick. i did a roll at 20 mph before against my friends R32, i spun and rpms just went lol i had to shift to second in like 2 seconds no even. like Slow Sho whats your first gear bring your goat to?

Si has 140tq with a 5:1 FD
1st gear tq output is 2300 lb/ft
2nd gear tq output is 1491 lb/ft at peak
3rd gear is 1061.9 lb/ft at peak
4th gear is 802.9 lb/ft at peak
5th gear is 644.7 lb/ft at peak
SS has 200tq with a 4:1 FD
1st gear tq output is 2704 lb/ft at peak
2nd gear is 1408 lb/ft at peak
3rd gear is 944 lb/ft at peak
4th gear is 712 lb/ft at peak
5th gear is 568 lb/ft at peak
Tell me, if Si's have "No torque" how come they make MORE TORQUE at the ground than an SS/SC in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, AND 5th gear??? And this is why SS/SC and Si's are a drivers race, the power output of the 2.4 is laughable compared to these figures. Keep in mind there are a lot more variables than just actual tq output, this is simply the most important.
Disclaimer for the hardcore checkers of work... These actual numbers are only about 99.9999% accurate, I didn't spend that much time on them but feel free to play math teacher and check.
My GTO first gear runs to about 50mph, but that point is totally irrelevant. With a shorter first gear the car would rocket outta the hole quicker, traction pending.

this thread needs to end already .... a stock Si is no match for a stock SS/SC I'm sorry. Do all the math you want stock for stock they are not in the same class in terms of performance. Now a modded Si is another story and will give a stock SS/SC a hard time. All the Si's that I have run never came close to beating my SS/SC and that was when I was GM Stage 1 and K&N filter. I don't wanna here ohh come here and race this one and that one .... I'm telling you from my experience with Si's along with many others on this site they do not beat SS/SC's like people have been talking about in this thread.

No one factors in FD ratio. The SI actually makes more torque in every gear (besides first) than an SS/SC stock to stock.

Si civics have a 4.76 FD ratio compared to 4.05 ratio so your calculations are incorrect. SCs have at least 230 trq at the motor your calculations are bullshit sorry. FD is not that meaningful if it was my 4x4 Pickup would accelerate faster in 4wd low.

im late to this tread, but its true. the civic si is my friend also, and i seen this thing go.. and the 4door si only has 20-40 more lbs over the 2 door coupe.. i know for a fact.. me and my friend "06ss all day" will get more videos. very soon.... we will solve the mystery.. lol

Civic Si Sedan: curb weight = 2947 lbs.
180 whp (maybe) stock
130 wtq (maybe) stock
Cobalt SS/SC: curb weight = 2936 lbs.
210-215 whp stock
190-200 wtq stock
Cobalt SS/SC has far better power to weight ratio, which is another reason why it will always over power the Si ....

you're just so stubborn right now. you're relying your solutions on technical information. how about you race an si like mines? and we'll decide on whether or not its driver's race or the car.

my boss has a stock 08 4dr si n when we race it gets really ugly fast. I got 2.8, 60#'s, i, e, h/dp, h/e..
i dnt really like the way the si's look on the outside so much but the inside owns the cobalts interior.. "off subject i know"

first of all, im not hiding a tune.
and thats what i basically did with k&n air filter and a mugen si catback.

Also, i would love to see you run a 14.1 with just a drop in and exhaust on stock tires ....

i have already raced Si's like yours if you were following this thread i mentioned that, and i have beat them everytime .... dont get all gay and ricer like and say well come race mine, because I'm not going to .... i have nothing to prove to you .... i know what my car can do and many members on this site know what the SS/SC can do against an Si. I have been also stickin up for Si's and saying modded ones can be quick, but you decided to attack me and say I'm stubborn ... I'M NOT !!! I'm just here to prove facts and the facts are a stock Si is NOOOO match for a stock SS/SC !!!!!!!!!!! if you arent hiding anything else then you are a good driver and your buddy in the SS/SC is not, because a Stage 2 SS/SC is out of your league with a good driver behind the wheel.
Also, i would love to see you run a 14.1 with just a drop in and exhaust on stock tires ....

I have driven both cars and the SI is not as fast as the SC especially from a roll. They are sometimes better from a dig because they actually dont spin much 125 wtq wont spin much unless you rev to 8k and dump the clutch.

ok sorry for attacking but just to let you know im no where near being a ricer. stock for stock is pretty close too. i've raced tphilly's cobalt and if can remember i beat it.
