09 SS/Tc vs LS3 Corvette

Ran my buddy's dad's LS3 Vette tonight.. figured it'd pretty much be a wash, but believe it or not, I got 1 car on him from 50-145 mph.. he started to catch up and proceeded to pass me at around 145 or 150 mph after I hit 5th gear. Vette is bone stock with an auto.. I'm Trifecta tuned with CIA boost tubes, K&N SRI, ZZP Downpipe, ZZP ported head with stage 1 cams and a ZZP FMIC(which has not been tuned for yet). I'm still getting 3 degrees of knock roughly, at certain rpms, and am in need of a re-tune. Once it's dialed in, it'll pull more I'm sure. I have witnesses also.. my buddy in his Cobalt with another Cobalt guy as well lol.. they couldn't keep up to us :P
From a dig.. there's no chance; it'd have to be done on the track with at least drag radials to be even somewhat close.. wish I had that kind of traction damnit!

Now to go pick on a certain cocky clown with an ISF Apparently he needs to be taken off of his high horse, according to my buddies.

Good kill. I have a video of ne beating an ls3 vette from about the same race as yours. The one I raced was a manual tho.

I very, very, very strongly suspect a driver mod for 'vette. By 100, I suspect you should have been very quickly reeled in, with such a short car length.

But - creds to ya! I had a fun time with a Porsche 996 a couple days ago - I saw the "turbo" badge, but went for it anyway. We were both getting on the highway, and I squirted by him. I expected an immediate rape-age, but he was somehow suddenly second-guessing.

Now that I've had a few days, I realize he made the right decision. If he challenged me and lost, he'd have to deal with the emotional consequences of losing to a Cobalt. If he raped me, he only would have been playing into the game and proving absolutely nothing by beating a far-more-underpowered sedan. He had nothing to prove, 'cause his car is pure sex, and mine is pure Hertz.

I wish I had vids.. I don't have a cam, but the other 2 guys who were following behind us, in another modded and tuned Cobalt that ran 13.2 a couple years back, couldn't keep up to us at all. I told them they should've videoed it lol. NO excuse imo :P I woulda loved to have seen the flames shoot out my back pipe when I shifted gears lol.. they said it was about 3 feet long lmao.
Also, I've heard that the auto C6s are faster in the quarter.. not sure if that's true or not, but I know for sure there ain't no driver mod excuse for losing to a manual Cobalt ::
It was an awesome race really.. I held that car length on him until 135 or 140 before he started reeling me in.. the change to 5th and it was over for me.. wouldn't really call it a kill cuz I know he'll top out at 170+ whereas I'd be lucky to hit 165 on a downhill with a tailwind, and that's if the car didn't go airborne in the process lol
My car still looks stock..kind of a sleeper. Only real indication is the exhaust note and the big FMIC hiding behind that cheap plastic mesh that Chevy put down below lol
The head/cams have a more aggressive exhaust note under WoT, but sounds stock at idle, unless it's cold.. then you might hear a little lope here n there for maybe 30 seconds.

Driver mod in an automatic?

All you do is put your foot down.

Or, the more challenging scenario, put it in M and tap a paddle with your foot planted...

I very, very, very strongly suspect that a driver mod in the Vette was not the issue.

Autos do not mean no driver mod required, especially in an auto that can clip off high 11 second quarter mile times and breaks 4 second 0-60's, which is where every LS3 'vette I know can run (although most have mild add-ins, they're otherwise stock). Its not too difficult to launch like a fool in a 'vette even with GM's driver-friendly ****, and Lord knows there's lots of fools driving 'vettes. Still like hearing a good 'balt-spanking-something, but I'm hella-surprised he wasn't overtaking like a fiend by 100-110.

Any hp numbers on the 'balt?

April 27th it opens.. however, I won't have a tune revision until afterwards and most of my buddies are goin this weekend.. Sucks! I want to go, but I'd rather go when I'm 100% and not 90% or so. I also have to book 2 days off which will cost me $500 lol.. so it's an expensive proposition for me.

I don't have any dyno #'s on the balt, but if a stock Vette is 430 at the crank, and only 200 lbs. heavier than a Balt.. well you do the math :P
