1BADSS/SC vs 04 Cobra
#27
The CSRT is 'around' 320 whp / 360 wtq. It hasnt been dynoed, but based on my mods this should be the ball park. I weigh around 3100 lbs.
The SVT has around 370whp / 370wtq stock, and weighs in at 3600 lbs.
My CSRT should have a TQ advantage, and the cobra should have a HP advantage.
I am curious how you came to this conclusion? Supercharged V8=torque monster with a nice and flat curve. Turbo small displacement 4=high peaky hp/tq.
Got a graph of your car?
Here is a stock 03

I think it will be close with the edge going to the Cobra just because they are designed not to save gas but haul ass!

BTW, I googled CSRT4 dyno and this came up in the images...

power to weight:
3600 lbs: 370 whp 370 wtq
3100 lbs: 320 whp 360 wtq
320/3100 = .10
370/3600 = .102
360/3100 = .11
370/3600 = .102
This conversion doesnt really take into account gearing, however its the best I can do without actually racing them. It gives an idea that if u compare max power/weight that the cars are almost equally matched, with the CSRT making a tad bit more max TQ/LB.
It will/should be a good race.
thanks tofu. So long as the weather doesnt take a **** it should go down before Sunday.

Wow, u cant even quote right.

Gearing goes to the cobra too FYI. But once you are moving it becomes almost a pure HP race.
I do agree it should be a good one. Make sure he doesn't have any exhaust or intake because those two little things are supposed to push them up north of 400 WHP.
Tyler
BTW, your math is backwards.
3600/370=9.72 lb/hp
3100/320=9.68 lb/hp
3600/370=9.7 lb/tq
3100/360=8.6 lb/tq
Like I said, gearing goes to the cobra though. If going from a slow roll then the flat TQ curve of the Cobra will also give it the advantage (no spool time) as well as a descent HP advantage.
And there should be a third choice because I don't think either one will run away with it unless one has a sucky driver. Which is possible with the SVT since most people that race mod and he is stock, but that is just a guess.

Quote right? I quoted you saying you had a TQ advantage when he obviously has more TQ spread out evenly and not all at one spot. To any real car guy that would show the flatter higher TQ curve has the advantage, not the peaky one. Now throwing weight into it is changes that, but we are just talking pure TQ advantage which goes to the Cobra.

Heres the matchup:
1BADSS/SC: Stage 1 CSRT4
-vs-
04 Cobra: Stock ( I think? )
Im probly going to be setting up a roll race with vids in a few days. What do you guys think will be the outcome? Id like to see what u guys think before the racing commences.
Leme give u an idea of how quick my CSRT is first off:
1) Beat stage 2 NSRT4's by bus lengths
2) Stayed even with a turbo upgraded STI till he ran out of gears and backed off
3) Beat my friends stock G8 GT by bus lengths
4) Destroyed a fully bolted 98 Cobra

well honestly ive never seen a 03-04 cobra that is bone stock. almost everyone is atleast pullied.
unless he got it brand new i would have to say its modded.
check the pully you can easily tell if they are stock or not.
if its a dif pully prepare to get pulled pretty good.
if its stock it should be him pulling til your turbo spools then you start to catch a little bit then you shift he pulls again til you spool up again. just depends on how much you can gain when your turbo is boosting

I agree.. Subie's don't impress me.. they're just a rocket off the line and as the speed goes up, the acceleration gets to be slower and slower. Evo's are almost the same, but a little better top end I think.

nope. I have:
full exhaust
CAI
stage 1
clamp
WGA
evos are MUCH better in the top end. Their traps are considerably higher by comparison. They have longer gears and better turbos stock for stock.

i know.
hugo has a csrt-4. hes running meth now...
i gues his car is tuned for 110 octane. butttttt since he cant really get ahold of it too often. hes running the meth. so meth + pump gas=no knocking

i think from a roll you'll take it.
the g8 gt isnt that impressive..my friends turbo cobalt stayed even with a 380 whp g8..they just weight way to much
the sti..was it a dig or roll race?
