2.2 LS VS. 03 V6 Stang
my friend is talking **** about how his car can kick mines ass. i was going with itd be a pretty close race. hes stock with an auto tranny n i hav an auto with all my upgrades in my sig. who do u think will win

I think an auto V6 stang runs something like 15.9 - 16.3's.

That new 4.0L engine isn't anything to laugh at... too bad the new 'stangs are huge compared to the old ones... 210hp/240lbft ain't too bad IMHO... too bad they get like 15MPG city... thus why I went Cobalt...

i beat 2 v6 'stangs 2 days ago on the interstate. they were following each other so i pulled up beside the one in front, took him by about 2 cars. then he pulled back and let the other one in front, and i beat him by about a car. they both dropped back embarrassed after that!

Im kinda in the same boat. I have a 2.2 '06 Cobalt 5spd and im thinking about racing a kid with a '05 Mustang V6 5spd..... but he has 100 shot of nitrous.... so im thinking not so much with the bottle.
but in your case, you should be able to take them. autos arnt that quick.

I'm actually still going to vote mustang. Take it to the track or whatever and find out. Its all in fun and then you'll know how you stand when other v6 mustangs come knocking...

A 99-04 V6 Auto Mustang should run low 16's, give or take a few tenths based on driving, conditions, etc.
Basically, no one's going to be able to tell you who will win. Just race him (at the track) and find out.

Instead of starting another thread i thought i would post here. But a friend of mine just got an 05' Stang (Base Model i believe). Does anybody here have any info on them and what they run before i agree to line up with him. He's stock, and well my mods are listed (Except my Smoothlocks wich added 5-10 HP).

the stang is going to eat you man, hate to tell you, i have a 2.2 now since my ss got totalled and im not going to toot my own horn but i drive the thing nearly flawlessly, i shift really hard aka even chirp 3rd gear. I raced a 95 accord last night 2.2(friends) with just an intake and only had him by 2 cars. The 2.2 really isin't very quick, i was so dissapointed last night. Especially since you have an auto, the stang is going to eat you. Ill even bet on it, i hate to break it to you but the auto 2.2 really doesnt have much *****, my manual doesnt have any *****. Im not down talking your car because i have virtually the same car, just speaking the truth.
