Sounds like you made two new friends. I can understand these cops seems like butt holes, but they trying to make the road a safer place. I do however think they went a little far with the searching with out reason.

Thanks guys. Yeah I let em search cause I don't have ANYTHING in my car to worry about, I had just woke up and washed my car and was going to get lunch any way so I figured what the hell, let em look if that'll make em happy. Besides that way I can say I fully coperated with them.
I knew I couldn't get nailed so why not have a little fun?

it's also stupid to run from the cops but I did the same tactic you did. The cop couldn't follow me fast enough and when I pulled into my apartment and parked he tried 50 questions and I co-operated with him, he simply could not do anything cause he didn't see my plate. It also helps when you drive by another Victory Red Cobalt Non supercharged w/high rise wing to use as the escape goat.

Jack you are one crazy ****. But seriously, you guys gotta stop with all the cop hating. Not all police are bad. Well, maybe city cops, but I have never had any problems with sheriffs deputies or troopers.

I don't hate cops, is that what it sounded like? Geeez it wasn't ment to. My father was a cop for almost 19 years, my uncles are damn near all cops, hell I have some Troopers as good friends. I don't hate police, I just know what they can and what they can not do is all. I coperated completly and for the record when I went past the trooper he was still on the on ramp to the highway and I just pushed a little harder is all. He didn't have his lights on so I wasn't running from him, had he lite em up my story would be VERY different! But he never did so tecnicly he was never in pursuit of me.
Geeeez guys I don't have any hate for the police. Really I swear!

it's Probable cause.
Jack did right in letting them search because they COULD detain him long enough for a drug sniffing dog to run over the car. And then the damn thing may put claw marks on his clearcoat. He had nothing to hide. I also think 15 minutes for a verbal consent to search was VERY generous on his part. And he's lucky that he lives in a state where the law about vehicle searches is very clear and adhered to by Law enforcement.
He said it before, something like that "probably" would not fly in Texas, where they would write you the ticket, then tear your car apart and leave it on the side of the road for you to pick up the pieces. or California, where they would immediately impound your vehicle for street racing just on suspicion. Possibly to demolish.
Very good exercise in constitutional rights and traffic enforcement procedure Jack! Never admit guilt to anything, Know that you have the right to refuse a search, as well as to rescind your previous consent to search AT ANY TIME.
But that trooper will be looking for you from now on man, watch your rearview

Good for knowing your rights, even if you were guilty.. I just hope they arent bored enough to stalk you.
They pretty much know you were going 120 + MPH, it may be worth it to take special care and find you again. After all they know where you live.
A friend of mine out in Edmonton had the same thing happen to him, and he pulled the same card as you. He's been nailed for petty crap 3 times in the last year
Good for you, but if they choose so, they can make your life on the road pretty bad. If anything, there is a note on you're file now. Your gonna get hooped. just a matter a time.

Funny thing is, everyone hates the cops until they need them.
