2.4 SS vs. 2003 Impala 3800 Series II
So I posted the thread in the 2.4 section just to see what people thought before I posted results...
I have a 2.4 SS Auto with a strut bar and Injen CAI and WSFrazier is stuck driving his dad's stock 2003 Impala 3800 Series II (auto) for now while his SS/SC is in the shop. We decided to run them one night just for fun.
Here are the results with videos (you need DivX installed to view them):
Race 1:
I spun tire bad on the start so he got a good jump on me. I started in the infamous L gear and "shifted" into I at the 2-3 shift. WSFrazier ran in Drive with traction control off. After his good start, I caught up and took the lead up until I had about half a car to almost a car on him (he never saw my taillights). After that he stayed even and maybe even gained ground, but we shut it down right about then.
Video: Race #1
(or this one if that doesn't work)
Race 2:
I got a much better start this race. I had the lead most of the time, but not by a whole lot. A car at the most. Again, towards the higher speeds he started gaining back some ground. By that time though, we were well past the 1/4 mile mark and almost to the 1/2 mile. I ran this one with the same "shifting" sequence as the first race. WSFrazier ran it in Drive, but forgot to turn off traction control.
