I have a built t56, an almost finished built block, a 9", and a v2sq (not going on the car again, but what i used to use before i blew the motor). Right now im getting so sick of it im considering parting it out and selling, but who knows. i have to get back to michigan before i can do that.

i made just under 500rwhp on the run that blew the motor. the block should be able to handle into the quad digits if i push it once it's done, but i don't plan on doing so. IF i keep the car i will probably go with a big twin screw and hope for around 650-700.

yea if i dont die before i finish everything. in all likelihood i will scrap the project, take the financial loss and go with a more financially smart project. I've already dumped way too much money into this car for the return and since im going to be living back in michigan full time, i would have to get another dd anyway. who knows we'll see what happens this summer.

Quick Question, what transmission do you have and what trans does the stang have. I beat a 97-98 Mustang GT auto in the 1/8th mile with my old 2.2 balt 3 times in a row, after the third time he left the track and didn't come back. I had a manual, he was auto, i had CAI and vibrant header dp and gmpp touring exhaust.

Sounds like an 87-93 foxbody to me. Originally rated at 225hp then downgraded to 205 after ford was caught cheating Only 190ish rwhp. 14.7-14.9's new. Take into account high mileage and probably beaten...I would say a close race. Edge to the mustang for gobbs of TQ.

FYI --> I owned a 07 SS 2.4 5 spd for a bit as well as 87, 92 gt and 92 lx 5.0 mustangs. So my butt dyno says the same.

But watch out. Bumped timing, removed air silencer and short belt put those cars at 14.2-14.4's. All free mods or "stock" so to speak.

Listen to the guy that has done it, if you can drive and ur a stick and he's auto you WILL beat him in the 1/8th. Now if he is 5 speed good luck ur gonna need it. In the 1/4 he will most likely get you. As for the guy saying 87-93s running 14.9s and 14.7s stock, good luck at seeing one stock. On those most people throw in some gears and knock that 1/4 down. And it doesn't take much money to put a fox in the 12s either. Thats one reason why i chose one for my drag project. But if it is "stock" then they are pretty slow usually.

96-98 GT's are turds.

Run in the 15's most of the time. Well driven ones will get into the high 14's.

If its an auto, its relegated to 15's.

No idea what a 2.4 N/A runs in the quarter, but if it can do a mid/low 15 it has a chance.

I was just going by what the OP said. But yeah, finding a stock fox is next to impossible. By the way I have a few small parts left over if ur interested. Billet ash tray, pillar pod, cobra nose w/ pony, bottle heater etc..

Yes they are turds, but still shouldn't have a problem with the 2.4.

okay i did talk to this guy and he drives a 95 mustang pretty sure its a 5 speed, and my buddies is a 06 2.4 with a 5 speed, they are both stock. So the 2.4 should be able to hang in there right?

So it's the 5.0 SN95, and No, it still should beat him (GT FTW).Are you sure it's stock?

um... my 88 GT clicked a 14.5 @96mph stock (with a 2.3 60') ... so not sure what some of you are smoking when you say 14.7-14.9 are difficult.

87-88 Fox body 5.0 (speed density) - 14.0-15.5s (depends on auto or 5 speed)
89-93 fox 5.0 (MAF) 13.9's - 15.5s (again.. depends on driveline & what body.. notch (quickest) then Hatch/GT)

SN95 94-95 5.0s - i have never seen stock click faster then 14.5 at the track ...
96-98 4.6 - never seen quickier then 14.7 at the track but these motors love FI

personally.. i have raced a few SN95 5.0s around me and the coby easily handles them.. but im also modded with a supercharger :P
