Whats up guys ..... i went out to grab some milk from the corner store, and i pull up at the light and this guy and his friend must have been a couple of old timers lol pull up in a 98' v6 mustang and revs the **** out of it,at first i **** myself because Iam bone stock so i started praying to the octane booster gods lmao and BAM!! light turns green he burns out like a ******* fire cracker lmao got to love that TC on the balts always knew it had a good purpose haha he gets up ahead of me about half a cars lenght and iam like well **** it was a good run haha ..... then a miracle happend tranny pops into second hits the power band and i fly clean even with him he looks over in shock hits it again for a second run and it was no competition from a roll the balt handed his ass to him



anyway these guys were so impressed they pulled me over and checked out my car and gave me
$40 bux for the trauma they went through when they saw me fly by hahaha well atleast thats what they said lmao my jaw was to the floor the entire time never thought a bone stock 4 banger would own a v6 stang

the old 3.8's weren't very fast...really you should be able to take him easily from a roll or dig with a proper launch in a 2.4. good kill.

the stangs are fast but there are exceptions. like i have a 2.2 ls cobalt and i was able to tear down a 95 mustang GT. got him by a half car at a light all the way to 60 mph. i mean ever since that race i havent been that intimidated by those 90's mustangs. im sure some are faster but i mean i beat a GT v8 man. and im bone stock. (unless your a ricer, then my "launch control" sticker adds 10 whp lol)

but ya nice kill. im takin down a 98 v6 mustang this weekend and hes got a 5 speed as well so it will be interesting. hehe im not worried

uhhhh....the sn95 gt's aren't as fast as the previous models or the models after, but they still run high 14's pretty easily...im very surprised that you beat one. was it really old and ratty? a 5-speed 3.8 should be a pretty good match for you...you might wanna be a bit worried.

'98 V6's were slow dogs. 150hp + 3,000lbs= pig. I had a '00 V6 stang once, it was pretty fast...after I put a blower in it. This story is nothing to brag about. They were 16 second cars.

Thanx alot everyone... ya i wasnt trying to brag just spreading some pride anyway yea it was a good race and i believe that he beat me on the initial dig becuase of his exhaust definately wasnt stock but dunno i could be wrong maybe just a bad driver but i seriously doubt it cause he told me he was givin it everything she got and there was still no competion from a roll the cobalt just killed him

anyway not the greatest of races but a very fun one and plus atleast iam not bullshitting like the guy that said he beat a lambo in a thread yesterday LMAO !!!!

o ya i also know the kid. i mean we have been friends and on lapeer road. (michiganders know what im talking about lol) we went froma 55 mph roll to 90 and i wasted him by 2 cars. i wanna see what we do heads up this weekend if hes free. and yes i was very surprised to by the kill. this guy was old (im 17 so old is like 45???) no offence to anyone, but ya he was bug eyed and everything.

ya my car does roughly mid-low 16 sec according to the tests. unless you can shift and perfect launch OR unless your"The Most Infamous and Controversial 15.6 @ 86mph" done by roccityroller here. lol.

The sn95 v6 Mustangs are such total dogs it is sickening...they are the reason v6 Mustangs have such a bad name today, and why everyone rags on the new 4.0 v6 and thinks it is slow. Sn95 GT's and the current 4.0 are a drivers race, equal drivers neither loses to a 2.2 or 2.4...from a dig, from a roll i can see the 2.4 pulling.

lol i've raced an 05 GT in my cobalt 2.4 ss... beat it... i dont see the mustang with a 4.0 keeping up from a dig or a roll not in my experience anyways...stang too heavy and bulky

wow...that person had no idea how to drive then....like no clue. they can hit mid 13's stock. average driver runs 13.8's. manual v6 with pony package has run 14.8 stock...most run 14.9/15.0 stock with a stick, 15.3ish with an auto.


we are heavier, but you have to remember how much more torque we have...the 4.0 puts down 240 ft lbs stock at a pretty low rpm and 210 hp. thats more torque than an ss/sc by a long shot. not more hp by what people are dynoing, but by the ratings it is.

Well, anything can happen on the street of course, but an '05 GT is MUCH MUCH faster than a 2.4 SS from any speed roll or from a dig. It's not a driver's race, not a close contest... if the GT guy can drive AT ALL, it will be a blow-out.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, just stating the facts. A 05+ GT should be running ~1.5 seconds or so faster in the 1/4-mile than a 2.4SS. Even an SS/SC is no match for a GT w/ a competent driver, stock vs. stock, in the 1/4-mile.

Also, real-life times show that the 05+ V6 Mustangs w/ the 4.0 are faster than 2.4 SS's as well. Not by a lot, but the 5-speeds are running high 14's stock, and an auto has even gone 15.0 stock. I think there are a couple guys who have run low 15's in stock 5-speed 2.4's, "MikeSS" is coming to mind at the moment, but the 4.0 should certainly give a 2.4 SS a good run in the 1/4-mile, as well.

oh and most street races don't end up going from a dig to around 100 like a quarter will. usually if you go from a roll you might go to 100, but from a dig, most don't at least from my experience, and the 4.0 with a stick can hit 60 in 6.5 and with the pony package, some testers have hit 6.3. because of the torque and rwd, from a dig it will run a 2.4ss pretty hard until say, the top of third where the 2.4 starts gaining ground.
