I'm not 2.4l but yes i have, 20 roll, wasted...in the 1/4 mile i think the 2.4 would be slightly behind, but street race anything could happen, again driver matters most...

I would think an SI would probably split the difference between the 2.0 and 2.4 engines.

The SI I priced out before buying the GT was well over $5000 Cdn more. So I wouldn't expect the 2.4 to keep up.

it would need more than tune.... an 06 SI has 197 HP, about 180 at the wheels I have never seen a 2.4 with 180 at the wheels. It would definetily take more than bolt ons and a tune to beat an SI.

i highly doubt a car making 197 at the crank is putting 180 at the wheels..maybe 170 but not 180

I am gonna have to call B.S. on that. The stock Si runs what, a 15.1 quarter mile at best. I would say with a tune the 2.4 would either hang with or beat the SI.

Many people have broken into the 14s on a stock Si. It's a quick little car.

Oh, the best that I had seen in a Mag. was 15.1.

I stand corrected.

For what it's worth, I think the best mags did on a stock SS/SC was 14.5 or so...they're good drivers, but they just don't get a lot of time when they road test these cars. I think it takes a while to really get the launches down.

I would agree with the 180 to the wheels on a SI, I mean GM did rate out cars 205 at the crank and most are putting that to the wheels without mods.

I was just wondering, how is it they cost more? Just trying to understand what you mean. (confused)http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.n...HC8_SSC;060703

I got my 06 Si for under $20,000.

I realize that. The member I quoted saying that the Si costed more, was sethallen, who is from MI. Just wondering how he came to that conclusion.

just so we're clear, we're comparing the si to the ss 2.4. there isn't even ONE 2.4 that has broken 14's...even with mods. there are SI's that are stock and in the 14's. argument closed

like i said earlier, even modded 2.4s wont beat a stock SI...also, why are you even comparing a modded car to a stock car? the original question was how would the si compare to the 2.4...and the answer is the SI would win. SI"s have run high 14's stock, and 2.4's stock are usually high 15's. So to be honest, they're not even close. Keep in mind that I used to have a 2.4, and I drive an SI all the time
