We have nothing to get over, your opinion is NOT the be all, end all, Final say final car guru law...You'll just have to live with that.
And my final retort is this..the Cobalt is a company paid for car by no laughable means do I treat it or talk about it like a "supercar". I had a choice between that and a Pontiac Torrent. I chose the Cobalt SS. Its nothing more than a quick daily driver to me. I've driven and raced professionally alot better metal.

Also, because of a ton of wheel hop, I had to launch at a miniscule 1800-2000 rpms. With a simple motor mount or a-arms I can launch alot higher 3000+ and with just and intake and tune this car is into the 14s easy on the crap stock tires.
My car is lighter or comparable to an Si without Nav as well. And don't go quoting Edmunds weights either and what not,... on a land fill scale I weighted mine and the car was 2710 without me in it. Operator said about 10lbs give or take scale accuracy.
Its only gonna get lighter as well. With Lighter rims=stocks are 22lbs and there are some 15 lb 17s out there for us., If SS 24. owners want a faster 2.4 they will not order sunroof, leather or the heavy sound system.
Also adding a ZZPerf, header, 3 inch catless DP and a full exhaust, a arm bushings, a stiffy and it'll knock on the door of 13s ....perhaps even high 13s on DRs if it'll hook.

I'm inclined to go with the SS, there's no way it's slower than the Civic. When I got done testing it I asked the guy for directions to his cars power band, as I couldn't find one.

Its hard to go forward when your tires are bouncing. It does 15.1 baby stepping it out of the hole. 2.3 60 foot time dude its not hooking up..EASY 14s otherwise..c'mon now.

Facts he says..bah. Its your fact. Sis can be beat by Cobalt 2.4s that's my fact. I did it all night long on a drag track with equal mods. He was truning 2.3 60 foot times as well. He was losing down the track... Herein ends the fact lesson b'bye come again next week when CoBot says....NO Si CAN EVER LOSE...

Well, as it turns I have more impressing matters to attend. But seriously, having drive the cars in question, the SS is faster. Especially one as light as GTPs. Good night to all, and to all a good night. Don't forget to eat your rice...burners.

i posted earlier that i still drive his car all the time. he drove mine also, and yes we raced like this, and the SI still won. 06 SI < 2.4 COBALT Is there ANY 2.4 in the 14's even highly modded? Stock SI's are high 14's. This should answer the question. Why are we still arguing. Go look at the magazine rated 1/4's...even if there aren't any 2.4 1/4's, then compare magazine SI 1/4's to the 1/4s posted here. Your guys' arguing is like saying that the ss/ss will beat a z06. It's simply just fictional. Get over it. And if you disagree, like I said, come to downriver MI, and you can race a stock SI,, and you will lose.

I am outta here too ...this is making my brain hurt. I called my old engine builder and read it to him, he spit his Starbucks on the keyboard.
