im about to buy an 18+ sec car... this 88 golf.. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2558188.. it looks sweet and i will prob swap a tuned VR6 in later and then be running in the 12ish range.. 250 hp in a 2000 lb car.. mmmmm.. but this wouldnt happen for a while.. slow cars can be fun!.. This will be the slowest car ive owned.. and its right after having my s/c.. sorry for the threadjjack but story seemed appropriate..

I hate going to my local track and having dozens of 15 second cars dragging water up to the line and taking so long to stage, etc. Also when going street racing it is more dangerous for these 15 second cars to race. My car can (or almost) stop as fast from 100 as your cobalt (and other slow cars) can from 60. At least some other slow sport compacts come with decent brakes, SIs, SVTFs, TCs, MINIs, SE-Rs, etc.
If you can't see why racing 15 second cars is lame, not to mention boring, then you need to go buy a horse and buggy.
Also to add, the thread starter actually started talking **** about another slow car, that = doubly lame.

Give em hell 280Z. If your the way I think you are the reason most your posts are agressive is like me sometimes its hard to just read the bullshit on hear sometimes and not comment. I dont agree with everything 280 says but 15 second plus cars are very frustrating at the track. If your going to buy a base Cobalt and fix it up to be faster than a stock SS/SC what the hell is the point. After you are done the SS/SC can do one small mod and smoke you again. Your base car will be turned up like a firecracker. I respect everyone wanting to be involved with racing but we are dealing with a generation of people who never rode in a fast car. Most people obviosly are delushional on what a drag car should be. If you have a 15 second plus car buy a g-tech and avoid public demonstrations.

What the hell people. I'm happy for the kid. Maybe he will take his 20 second car and put some big tribals on the side. One of you guys can sell him your wing and demean the cobalts a little further. As was stated earlier the reason some of us make fun of Hondas is because most of them are 15 second plus cars with no business racing. What is differant about the low end balts? Chevy gave us an entry leval race car. Let's race that one.

That is the most UNEDUCATED statement that i have seen on this site from day one! There is a 9 second BASE BALT! I own a BASE BALT. So why didnt i BUY an SS/SC. Couldnt get the financing for it. Im 28 and have went through a horrid divorce, so my credit is screwed. Im so sick of this ****....
