2008 SS/TC vs 2007 SS Impala

Ok fellas, this is the deal. I have a race with a 07 Impala SS tomorrow christmas night. We are going to run from a dig. He does have some mods done to his car. I know he have a intake, exhaust, and a tune. I heard through the grapevine is shooting like a 100 shot of juice. My car is bone stock but my plans are to feather it around 2500 rpm and use no lift the rest of the way. **** launch control. Im going to try to rep for the cobalts!!!! What yall think???

Are you guys serious? All the people in the mustang gt vs ss/tc thread are like, "oh they aren't that quick." "you should take one." blah blah....but this one is gonna be close hmm? Interesting since this is a considerably slower car. Think about that next time the tc becomes a gto and ascends into heaven in a war stories thread.

weighs 3700 lbs, is front wheel drive and has 300hp. It runs high 13's at the very best. It should be fairly close. Make sure you get him on the launch and he wont be able to gain ground.

Once again learn to read before yor go running your mouth, he said it might have a 100 shot.

As for people saying Mustangs aren't that fast in the other thread sorry but the truth hurts. There is a world of difference between calling a Impala fast and a Mustang fast. The Impala is quick for being a family oriented sedan vs the Mustang being a slouch compared to other V8 coupes.

100 shot ls4 = ss/tc rape. Stock impala ss should lose by a little. The fact is, an ss/tc is a slower car than a 3v and a slightly faster car than a stock ls4 ss. The fact that people think a 100 shot impala would be a good run for a bone stock ss just shows just how overrated the ss/tc is already becoming. Just like you and the other first ss/sc owners thought their car was faster than it really is. My statement still stands. You guys vastly overrate the ss/tc.

Come on now I had a 12 second 2002 Camaro SS while I had my SS/SC so I knew where it fell in the food chain. That and I would rather deal with over-rated SS/TC stories than hear about one more pathetic GTO anyday.

I'd rather deal with gto guys with cars that are actually faster than the ss/tc, than have ss/tc owners that wont run faster than a mid 13 talking **** about cars that should be in the 12's or even faster in some of the other threads that have come up. This is literally a perfect repeat of what happened when the GM stage kits came out, some lucky idiots beat faster cars than they should have and everyone thought they were running with c5 z's and 04 cobras with stage 2. Someone has to maintain a sense of reality here.

if he is spraying a 100 shot. back down now. you don't stand a chance.

also. if you make one little mistake in driving versus him on motor. he will walk you.

My 07 monte ss runs 13.4 with K&n drop in and magna flow exhaust. 13.0 with drag radials, if he knows how to drive the car with limited wheel spin, you're done, i walk stock ss/sc's on a daily basis.

im just saying when v8's can get 22 -30 mpg and roll down the track at mid 13's stock at 21,000 let me know. with 2 grand in mods you can get into 12's on the track. im not bashing v8's cause i almost got an 08 mustang and i liked the car. im saying look how 4 cylinders can compete with 8

thats the whole point of pretty muching gettin a 4banger and modding it, atleast to me... if ur in a cobalt or ne other 4 cylinder car and u come close or even beat a v8 whether its bc it spun too much off the line or wutever....

just think about how much gas v8's guzzle to get power compared to our cobalts that just sip..lol
all im saying is, just like in boxing, a cobalt might to be a heavyweight but is def a pound for pound champ

my grand prix gxp got 28mpg on road trips.

13.7 @ 103 bone stock.

i do believe i have more than a right to explain what is going to happen when a stock ss/tc picks on a modded ls4 car. i have driven and/or owned both.

saying someone will beat or lose to someone without personal experience is grounds for failure.
