If he was speaking of only new vehicles that was kind of a stupid comment to make. Of course pretty much any V8 powered car is going to cost more than a Cobalt. That isn't because a V8 is more expensive but that what it's wraped in is.
As or V8's and great mpg pretty much any stock or near stock LSx engine will get high 20's. My LS1 F-Bodies could see up to 29mpg my GTO around 26mpg and my C6 has got as much as 32mpg.

Did any of you guys have a liscence when a v8 got 12mpg and a 4 banger got 22-28?
Fuel management has made leaps and bounds in the last 5 years.
My full size gets 12mpg, but could beat most 'cars' in the snow or mud...lol.

to be honest it boils down to how heavy your foot is and how heavily modded your car is. my stang gets better mpg than my celica depending on how i drive them. boost is not fuel friendly!!!!

Back in high school my F-Bodies would be lucky to get 24mpg highway and ran 15.2 now days my Silverado gets 22mpg and runs a 15.3 stock.

i raced my friends 07 monte ss ls4(v8) he has a drop in k&n annnd i beat him by 3 cars or so... now if he had a exhaust, cai, and tune... i think he would of beat me for sure. and i am all stock

are you saying one of my good friends raced me because i have a ss/sc... he raced me because we similiar wheels. those monte's are dogs stock. i love the hell out the style and everything they are 100% beautiful. i think others can agree. but fwd ls4 ehhh. i'm saying i read the thread wrong. a ss/tc will walk away from me which is good right? because since i beat the monte by 3 cars or so a tc racing a slightly modded monte will only pretty much even out whose going to win by half car or so, orrr someone is losing by a bumper. just do a roll and a dig... roll you should have it if you start in your power-band. dig you should still have it if you have your launches good

First of all ass wipe, you think Im going to race b/c you want to hear the outcome....lol? I race when Im ready. I heard he put his car in the shop to get some more things done to it after the Pontiac Formula 1 raped him. I talked to some of his buddies and they said I probably dont want to race him when his car get out. They didnt tell me what he is getting done. Just stay tune and if you dont like that **** off!

it was fun for what it was. awesome road car though. decent aftermarket if you want to drop the motor and tear into it. big limit is the intake manifold due to the DoD oil controls being in there as well. weak transmissions. mine didn't like the 120 shot i put to it. 396/421 whp/wtrq is what it did on the bottle.
the gxp has killer brakes. i miss those the most. the stock ones on the ss/sc and ss/tc don't compare to it.
i have not ran an ls4 in my ss to date. no one around here wants to run one.
