BONE STOCK 3.8 Track, AUTO

DA Looks like it's gonna be somewhere between 1900 and 2400 feet.

Anyway, IDK about a drivers race though.
Haven't looked into the Genesis to much, I ran one of the turbo'd editions a few weeks back though, bone stock engine wise (both of us) and I ran buses on him.
It was auto as well

A 3.8L Genesis is comparable to a stock SS/SC in most cases.
If you are going from a dig, it all depends how well you can launch the Cobalt... cause the Gen is going to make a little squeal, hook, and rocket out of the hole.
On the other hand, if you were going to do a roll... the TC would just walk away from the GC.

I drove a GenCoupe 3.8 a while back and really just didn't feel it. If you mess up the launch you will be screwed though. After driving one I feel that I could take one in my SS/TC with my stock tune so GMS1 shouldn't be a problem just stick the launch

3.8 is slower than the new v6 mustang and the v6 mustang walks away from the GC... SS/TC is about even with a v6 mustang now... so unless the cobalt driver is failtacular it should be SS FTW

A lot of miss-information in here. I won't comment on it but I will say that DA is going to play a factor. Don't expect mind blowing times from either car. Both drivers are very competent and no one else behind the wheel would get better E.T's.
I do think the Cobalt is going to trap 1-2mph higher. However I don't know if it can launch with the Genesis. Should be pretty tight either way!

stock for stock would be close but a stage1 vs stock..... it should go to the TC.
If this is happening at the track reaction time could win this for the Genesis......

Unless the Cobalt has car or driver issues it should win pretty handily. Best I've seen for a stock 3.8 auto is around 14 flat. Pretty sure I've seen videos of stock SS/TC running high 13's... The best posted 1/4 mile time for a V6 on gencoupe.com, without spraying, is a 13.6 IIRC. That was with full bolt-ons and an ecu flash. I love my coupe but she's big boned My 2.0T isn't quite as portly as the V6 but still not petite.

Not sure if it's legit, my only experience with cobalt 1/4 miles is google and youtube...

for example. lets say f/i car and n/a car run exactly 14.00 at sea level. go up to 6k feet and the n/a will be mid 16s, f/i car will more than likely still be in the 15s. another example to explain that, lets say both cars are taking in, for ***** and giggles, the same amount of air at sea level. well up in 6k feet. the n/a car can only take in the air available around it. the f/i car can still compress air and therefore get more gal/cyl producing more power.

According to wonderful magazines, the Genesis auto runs 14.5@97. C&D ran the manual to 14.2@100. Stock for stock i think the Cobalt will still beat it (though close). GMS1 is gonna be no contest.

Someone at the shop i work at have a Genesis 3.8 auto with the paddles shifters
When i was stock it was close but i still had an edge on him every race.
Now with the trifecta tune its pretty easy.
Ive never raced him from a dig though, so its still hard to say, if the track is well prepped and he can drive his TC id say he should win
