dont think you will take him down with too much ease. these guys have the rear wheel drive advantage, so making your launch good is the key. i raced a G35 (2005) and he got me off the line every time by about a car length, and thats how far out in front he was the entire race, so its all about the start. good luck though.

Check his engine bay thoroughly before you race him. If you are confident, ask him to put his money where his mouth is! I find stock vs. stock it is a driver's race but maybe I am running into bad drivers. With your mods vs. his mods, if he is not lying, you should beat him handlely! Good luck.

if he is so cocky that he thinks you'll lose no matter if u spray or anything, race him from a 40mph roll first, and really hand him his ass, then go from a dig and still beat him. either way you're car is faster, if u can drive, you will eat him alive. if u cant, then you're still gonna win, especially from a roll when you take it up to 7k

lmfao you guys think that the cobalt is invincible.... it's rediculous yes it is quick, but there are cars that are faster than ours....350z have a faster rating, also does the sti.... believe it or not... some of you act like your car is faster than a viper.... come to reality

Who said our cars where invincible? I didn't. I gave as much as info on the 350z that I was called out by. Get that I WAS CALLED OUT! I'm not trying to race Vipers, Corvette's, STI's, Cobra's, etc. I simply asked everyone's opinion.

I considered buying a Z but being only a 2 seater turned me off. With stage 2 you'll win.

If you guys are going from a dig, the Z will win hands down. Those plenum spacers do WONDERS for Z's. With his mods he should have like 250-260 rwhp. From a 40 roll, just for example you will probably take him, but not really sure. SShaner is right, alot of people with these cobalts think they own the roads. Most encounters on the street people don't take serious. Unless you set-up a legitimate race, or take it to the track, I don't see the point in saying you beat this or that.....etc. Anyway goodluck with the Z race, hopefully you should get em'

omfg are you guys joking with me, i think it ridiculous that you talk so much **** on other cars that ARE faster, and have faster stock times.... yes the ss/sc are quick and look good, but 350's are fast and run faster times in the 1/4 i have also seen a 350 race with a ss/sc here in town and the z won by 2 cars.... and the cobalt had stage2, and the z was stock... sorry, im just putting my 02. in.

well like dynos have shown not all cars dyno the same and i have seen some videos where stock to stock a z loses against a cobalt ss from a roll and from a dig the cobalt catchs backup from its disadvantage of being fwd....my twin brother might at the most dyno 245-250rwhp...the plenium spacer according to him only add's 20rwhp...and he did 224rwhp with the intake and exhaust work.....i think it will be a drivers race from a dig and the cobalt ss should pull a little from a roll

I think you'll find the same thing on all forums. For example go to the SRT-4 forum,STI, or Honda forum and they will have the same attitude about their cars being better than others- it's just human nature. The crowd here does seem to be young and not real experienced in racing or quick cars- I envy them in the years to come as this was one of the funnest times I had in my life- learning about fast cars and how to make them faster- a 1/4 of a century ago.

i know my car cant come close to "owning the road" the only reason i am confident that he will win is that the g35 i raced was spanked, horribly and he had the jump, and by the 350z's trap speed and 1/4 mile time that wants to race repo man. the evo's i raced will run a 13.6 in the 1/4 no problem but they have that good of a track time b/c the awd traction, b/c from a roll i pulled on them instantly. and repoman is gonna have much more done to his car than mine by the time of the race. cobalt ss/sc with mods is not the fastest car on the road, but with his mods, it is faster than this 350z

Sorry but stock a 350Z doen't come close to having mid 13 second potential. PERIOD

And Stock SS/SC vs Stock 350Z is a drivers race from a dig and a winn for the SS/SC from a roll.

Hey Shaner. This is off topic but you have the fastest 2.2L out there but I see no slips with your pics. and I would think with that kind of time you would have proof! Why are you not on the official list for modded 2.2s? I would also like proof of any 350z running better then 13.5 stock.

my friend had a 2003 6-speed he had nismo intake headers and exhaust.

my 06 type s was stock at the time.

we raced from a 15 mph roll and i pulled about a 1/4 of a car on him, then around 75 80 mph he pulled on me.......

now i know what ur all thinking ok this kid is bsing or his friend doesn't know what hes doing.. i couldn't believe it myself... and my friend said he had traction control on, so i said ok lets do it again, this time traction control was off... SAME RESULTS
he wanted to do it from a digg i said man thats not even a race, u'll win..

so with ur torque and ur mods. i believe u can beat him

I didn't see anyone on this thread say their balt could take everyone. It's common sense that with his mods he will win from a roll and from a dig it comes down to the driver. You need to chill.
