He must have been a n00b rider... cause unless your driving a Porsche, a bike is gonna whip a car in the curves even worse than in the straights.

When I had my Redline, I ran a few bikes, the thing about the bikes, yeah they're going to be a little quicker (surprisingly not by much and most of them didn't know what the little Ion was capable of) but you won't catch many motorcycle riders take it much faster than about 130 because most cars are goverend around 110-120 or so, so if you can run it past those speeds then more than likely you won't have a motorcycle guy attempt to keep up with you past the 130 speed (not on the highway anyways).

What?

You must have ran into a crowd of 500R Ninjas.

That and with the short amount of time it takes to hit 130mph why would a seasoned rider stop? If your confident enough of your skills at 110 whats another 20mph?

i got beat by a 91 yzf, but beat a newer honda somehoe, it was a 600 but 100% not a cbr 600rr, he even gave me a thumbs up. the 91 yzf walked me and he started in 3rd gear, at like 50mph, and i jumped ahead but when he hit his powerband he was out.

the honda i raced was rolling with some old 250 ninja, i have no idea what kinda of bike is made that wouldnt be faster than me, maybe he just doesnt know how to ride

Well, open roads some guys will go past 130MPH, but around here the roads are too jacked up and there's just enough traffic to make the "sane" guys that ride think twice about going too fast.

Jeez... I cruise on the highway at 120 MPH.... 160 MPH is a regular occurance on most of the rides I'm on....

*Just to clarify... that on the R1... not the Cobalt! *

A Cobalt with not have a chance against any sportbike!! It takes a lot for an exotic sports car to keep up with or even beat a sportbike so a economy car either supercharged or not will have no chance, unless the bike rider is a noob and doesn't know how to ride the bike yet!!!!

120 mph cruising and 160 mph on a regular basis. I love it. Nothing against you man, jsut saying, the people on this site are sometimes. I posted up about cruising at 90 MPH in my balt and get flame sprayed for three straight pages, but you post up something like that on a bike and everyone takes it in stride. Just think it's funny is all, nothing personal. Just saying.

The guys posting here about high speeds on bikes need to go ride a decent one.

120mph feels the same as 160mph not to mention a bike can do 0-160-0 before most cars hit 120mph. The only real difference between 110mph and 160mph is that you will fly further when someone hits you and you will be dead instead of retarded.

And guys my 1998 CBR 600F3 gets walked by my 2007 GSX-R600. The difference between a 1997 and 2007 is mind boggling were talking 11's vs 10's.

when is the last time you read a review of 600cc bikes?
I have ridden every one of them minus the yamaha R6...never have been a fan. So by your standards the magazine is the most accurate? You never rode them all yet your using magazine stats? Aren't you the guy who always argues to stop magazine racing when it comes to your GTO's..yet your die hard about what the magazines say when it comes to bikes? your a hypocrite cody..always have been always will be...no matter how many lame come backs you have.

I mean look at this brilliant comment:

120mph feels the same as 160mph
It's a known term called "tunneling" ask any rider (minus you obviously) and they will be familiar with the term...once you hit roughly 150mph your vision narrows...once that happens...it feels nothing like doing 120mph. I encourage anyone besides idiot here to go out and do it..then come back in and tell everyone how UNlike 120mph 150mph feels like.

Or this brillaint piece:

not to mention a bike can do 0-160-0 before most cars hit 120mph.
What kind of car are you comparing it too? A carolla? A Nissan Maxima? If you truly knew anything about bikes and realized how actually far off the speedometer was, you would understand most 600's are mechanically limited to about 150mph. Last time I maxxed out an 05' 636 Zx6r I had it wrapping redline at 152mph (actual speed) and the speedo stated 171.

You talk so much **** and your amazingly clueless. No wonder why everyone laughs at you openly and gives you negative rep...your an idiot

The new SS 600s are all within thenths of a second from one another.

A car there is SO much more room for error...you have so much more displacement (for the most part).

Have I lost to cars on my 600?

Of course...600s are a PITA to launch...relatively new rider and launching at 8K will make any new rider's ******* pucker. As for the Cavy beating a bike on a tight twisty techincal road...theres a reason why the lap records on tracks are held by cars 4 contact patches>2 contact patches. 600s are good for about 160 MPH any person with a 600 telling you they are going faster are lying...and it must take eight years and a day for a 260 hp car with tall gearing to get to 160...

...oh don't worry I'll be back to discuss in a little bit

I raced a 650 and it was actually pretty close. I lost him in 4th gear but we were neck and neck up to about 120 mph.

Break it in on a dyno...all your break in stuff goes on in the first 100 miles...after 100 miles change your oil...at another 100 change it again, ride it like you stole it the whole time

Now...it would be a front sprocket...and it would have to be like a 10 tooth front...which I highly doubt because it would cause the chain to crimp and break. Now...sounds to me you were 'racing' a broken bike...cmon...thats retarded

FNFAST you are a f****** un-nice person so be quiet.

I was riding sportbikes before I could drive a car which was one of the perks of living in a small town.

And no **** a speedo on a bike is off common error on a new one is 10% older bikes could be as high as 15%. So take the indicated 179mph I seen and do the math close enough to 160 for me

And you mentioned magazines as an argument against what I said I read so whats that make you? I don't base my desions off anyone elses opinions but if a magazine says it's slow handles like **** and falls apart I will most likely stay away from that model be it a car or bike.

And please realize tunnel vision occurs at different times and speeds for certain people. Pretending there is a set speed that a random event happens shows how unsmart you can be.

As for people no liking me it's mostly import driving folks like you so get back in your really nice STi and take a spin!

BTW. if you don't trap at least 130. you don't have a chance in hell against a bike.
