so really a Camaro with 80 MORE whp than a base LS3 managed to trap 3-4mph faster? am I missing something here?
i'm not necessarily a displacement car, but I am a common sense guy... a Cobalt on street tires is not going to out launch many rwd V8s on the street... our hope is to run them down once we hook... when you're racing a car with MORE whp and a better hp/weight ratio, you don't run them down...
guess what that Camaro STILL has more whp, STILL has a better lb/hp ratio, STILL has RWD, and has an automatic... considering it has a better hp/lb ratio than a LS3 Vette, that could possibly be WORSE than the LS3 Vette, lol
and this is why this forum is laughable, you've ran into ONE terribly driven ZL560 Camaro, and now they're all slow...

no the vette "huggers" have common sense... a stock turbo Cobalt needs to stay away from a LS3...
since 2006CobaltSS cobalt is do damn fast, he should EASILY be able to provide proof he can trap 116-120mph on the stock ko4

and i've caught flack over it
and cmiller trapped 117 and wasn't stock weight is by far the fastest stock turbo LNF but was on full blown slicks, not even drag radials... he also blew up................... he is also 3mph faster than the next fastest stock turbo car........ which was a shop car and not stock weight

Stop bench racing.. Trap speeds, et's and specs dont mean **** in the real world.. Anything can happen theres too many variables.. Ive seen fast cars lose to alot less..Even if it is not the normal outcome It still happens.. Move on with your life already.. Lol

Let see here...
1. He did not "blow up"
2. He was on slicks so that killed his trap by ~2mph, this thread is about roll racing correct?
3. The "Shop" car is faster than him, stock turbo..

i've never argued Corvettes COULDN'T lose to Cobalts
just with equal drivers, its no contest
and IMO, bragging about beating a driver, is nothing worth bragging about... its just like beating someone from a roll... the only reason you're probably wanting to run them from a roll is because they'll scorch you from a dig.. the only reason you brag about being a terribly driven car, is because when its driven right it'd put car lengths on you
and the fact still remains, a bolt-on/tune LNF is a 112-117mph trapping car AT BEST, with the vast MAJORITY being in the lower end of that spectrum, as in... all but 2... not at worst, at best... that is in well driven LS2 Corvette territory....
I hate to break it to you guys, like not every guy is running 11.8 @ 120 in a stock LS3, not everyone of them is running 13.0 @ 108 or some bull ****
and i'd say ON AVERAGE, a bolt-on tune Ko4 isn't going to outrun a STOCK LS2 Vette, forget about the LS3... on AVERAGE a stock LS2 Vette is a 12.4-12.6 car, that is faster than all but 2 LNFs that have ran stock turbo, neither of which were stock weight, etc..
you guys can call me the Corvette fan boy all you want, that is ******* common sense... I would love to see the reaction of anyone EXCEPT a group of Cobalt owners with this topic, i'm sure laughs would be had...
especially with the video of the terribly driven ZL550 Camaro... lol
don't get me wrong, I love to catch people off guard in my Cobalt, and i'm sure in the fact the Vette didn't just absolutely demolish us, the Vette owner would be left saying "damn that Cobalt moves"... but the fact is, messing with any Corvette that is beyond a C5, its a waste of time on the stock turbo
and P.s., we probably don't want any of the Ls6 Zo6s either, because their lighter and have gone in the 11s bone stock as well, and in fact, are generally faster than the Ls2 C6s
for the guys throwing S252s, etc. on their car.. no doubt they can run with one... never have I argued that... but once mods are brought in, well, I don't think Cobalt guys really want to talk about that either

no clue, and that is a perfect example, we'd probably give a C5 Zo6 MORE than what one wanted from a roll, in fact up until aerodynamics took over, i'd give us the edge

How can you not brag about beating a driver, my god guess what THAT IS THE POINT OF A RACE. Racing is racing not bench racing. We don't go around saying my god if my car was xxx it would beat xxx , in what sport ( race wise ) do you not beat a driver? Which one you want to do? Sprint, NASCAR, Top Fuel, Pro Drag, Indy .. ect in any of those events I promise you can watch it all day and still see the fastest car ( usually ) not finish first.
Sorry but you don't win by beating a car you win by beating a driver just like this thread is beat the horse to death. Is a LS3 vette faster than a cobalt , Hell yes it better be ; will it always beat a cobalt in the real world , no probably not because in the REAL world the driver wins the race not the car, this isn't some nightrider **** damn.

What I mean is he talks the LS3 to be a 120mph car and a C5Z to be faster...With H/C/Etc it should be ***** fast, it wasn't in the vid.

I could care less. The people that were there with me (A couple other CSS members along with others) saw me do it. I know I ran it and my friends know I ran it, that's all I care about. I don't want everyone else in the world to know all my numbers, now that I don't own the Cobalt I could care less but I don't tell everyone exact numbers about my Cobra.
