Great callout from a modded GTO ..nobody called the LS1 slow ... whats your take on the story ..you dont find it conceivable that an SS can hang with a Stock LS1 GTO untill 4th from a roll .... it was all great with power to weight untill I showed that they were incredibly close and then there was no talk of it

it was ignorant for 2 reason... this is really getting stupid...
1) no one ever said the gto was slow
2) if you say that it's IMPOSSIBLE for a cobalt to come CLOSE to beating a GTO, then do some more research...
again, for those that aren't so bright, i'm not saying that the GTO is slow, and i'm also NOT saying that the Cobalt is faster than the GTO.. all i'm saying is that it is possible, there are many factors that play into it, and saying that it's not possible is ignorant...

lol...I feel like I'm being attacked by a bunch of sharks..so heres my take.
Do I expect you to race me? NO...since I'll probably beat most LS2s. however, since I know there are plenty of unmodded 04 that will be runing in the low 14s I didn't think it was out of the picture to include the SS since those cars the SS could be competitive against. Any stock 04 GTO running on OEM tires will have a hard time not being around 14+= some ... but simple add drag radials and it should be in the mid 13s. And personnal the target for my mods are the SRT-8s and the Challenger when it rolls out...so no I don't feel a need to prove myself against the SS.
So where was I....The organizers of this event have extended the offer to many GM forum sites to have a very broad range of GM cars and sponsors at this meet. I'm sure that there are some modded SS owners in the Ohio/Michigan area who would like this opportunity. Now for those interested in good racing and fast cars this will be a well spent day so the offer still stands. Who knows maybe one of your members may return with a track win over an 04...you just never know.
