Best race to date - SS/TC Vs Built 383 Stroker Camaro SS

Cobalt SS/TC on E85 Vs Camaro SS w/ 383 Stroker, Heads & Cam - YouTube

Just a few friendly 30 rolls. We wanted to see where his car stood with his new build. The Camaro owner previously had a built 357ci Lloyd Elliott S2 heads and cam setup that made 411RWHP, but it broke and he upgraded. Detailed mods list is in the Youtube description. The Camaro should be putting down around 450RWHP as it sits in the video. I haven't dynoed my car since my E85 tune. I'm guessing it would probably put down around 350whp/400tq.

I honestly was thinking he was going to pull me because he did a 30 roll with an FP Red EVO8 that trapped 122mph and only lost to the EVO by about 1.5 cars from 30-120. Apparently I was wrong -- my car is a roll montser.

Wait for the naysayers, they'll be here soon enough saying we are just racing busted-ass cars and that's why we're winning/keeping up.

Not sure if I am crazy but the video I just watched had the Camaro winning by a half car. Am I missing something? It also just looked like a case of really slow shifting on the camaro and he was about to pull buses.

We actually did 3 races. The 1st race was the 1st one in the vid. The 2nd one isn't on vid because I forgot to turn the GoPro on and the cameraman left the camcorder in the Camaro when he switched cars.

The 2nd race (not recorded) we went from 30 to 125 and no one fucked up, I had a 1/2 car lead on him when we shut down.

The 3rd race is the 2nd one in the vid where my car is getting heatsoaked and he gets out a fender or so on me before we shut it down.

So I technically won 2 out of 3, with 1 of my wins happening with a handicap (extra 160lbs) in the car. Adding weight hurts these Cobalts pretty bad - I gained 3 tenths and 1mph at the track by kicking my girlfriend out of the car, and she weighs a bit less than 160lbs.

We need to rerace when he gets his tune 100% complete and with no passengers.

I'm at 6000ft above sea level too, so N/A and S/C cars don't fare as well at retaining their power as turbo cars do. If this race happened closer to sea level, I would have got raped.

He sort of got raped at 6k, why not at sea level. He was about to have buses put on him, race ended just as it was about to get ugly. The first vid the other driver missed a gear.

I'm confused how it was "about to get ugly". The Camaro let out at the top of 3rd at about 105mph. From 30-100, he only managed to pull a fender ahead of me. What you don't realize is I was spinning from 30-60mph every time we raced (you can't even hear my car) and he has traction because he is on 315 Nitto DRs.

We did a slightly longer race that we didn't get on tape, like I said, from 30-125ish and I had a fender on him.

If you're so ******* smart/car-saavy guy, drive your 12 second, 115mph trapping Z06 up here to Bandimere and get ready to feel like a fucktard when it only runs a high 13 @ 103mph. That's assuming you can drive the living **** out of it, which I'm sure you can because according to you EVERYONE else can't drive. My buddy in the SS in the video can row gears pretty good, but yet you claim he would have stomped me if he shifted faster?

I mean, for Christ sakes man, do I need to text my buddy with the SS from the video and tell him to drive up here again so I can video a 30-160mph race just so you'll get off my dick?

Here, let me put things into perspective for you:

Or you can just stop making posts implying you walked 450 rwhp Camaro when you clearly did not. Never said my car was fast, and I am well aware what would happen if I ran it at 6k. I know what happens to NA cars at altitude. Just that I, like others I am sure, get sick of reading these David vs. Goliath war stories where the video "gets lost". And I never said you couldn't drive.

We're racing Cobalts here, it's always going to be "David vs Goliath" unless we start racing N/A Hondas.

Never said I walked the Camaro either, just implied I was impressed/suprised with the outcome. Even the Camaro owner was impressed with our runs - infact, let me quote him from his post on another forum:

...I honestly expected to leave this thing, but his Cobalt is NO JOKE from a roll! I was so confused on the first run that I panicked and missed 3rd gear lmao. I thought something was wrong so I started looking over everything trying to figure it out....all was well though.

If he got a few cars pulled on him by a car that only trapped 122, and he pulled on past you, whats the big deal that's super hard to believe?

No dig race yet, he's still on the stock 10-bolt. He's scared of breaking it, so that's why we roll raced. I'm like the only FWD car around my neck of the woods that will actually dig race.

Better not race (and beat) a 135/335i...

You're talking instant poo-flinging excrement storm

Nice runs with the ol' LT1
