My friend had a modded 2003 GTi and it was the biggest P.O.S. !! I was out in our parking lot everyday fixing the damn thing for her. True some can be nice, but I would take a SS/SC or SS/TC over a VW any day of the week !! Heck I even rather a Civic Si .... at least they actually look sharp compared to the lunch box look of the GTi.

CSRT4. Well, its about 3100 lbs anyway with street trim and 1/2 a tank of gas ( according to the scale at the track ).
Dont mind him, hes dillusional. He thinks a viper is an econobox....
Did I say VW is crap? I said the GTI is crap, and they dont know how to make good sport compacts.

i think it may be motor trend, but they rated the gti overal better than the cobalt ss/tc, mazdaspeed 3, ralliart lancer and the new wrx

and what does the auto magazines know about car potential, engine durability, transmission durability, and aftermarket?
Nothing.
I will tell u what they know best. How to take handouts from auto companies so they will rate them higher. You want to TRUELY learn about a car and what it can do, hit forums. Otherwise dont listen to those garbage magazines. They dont know their ******* from a hole in the ground.
