not my buddy but just a vid I found of a 2.2 running 14.5 (one of his 9 runs hit that). Now if one guy is doing it why do our friends running it seem so illogical? My buddy has hit the 14.5 mark multiple times but normally he is in the 14.5-14.7 range FOR SURE! I know vids do all the talking, but this stuff isnt that far fetched. and yes, auto's blow ***** in comparison to teh stick

1) trifecta tuned (as it says in his description) is probably robbing him some valuable ponies
2) who knows how good of a driver he is (he seems fairly good but his Reaction Time could be slightly improved and he could probably launch it harder)
cammed 2.2 cobalt 1/4 mile 5-14-11 - YouTube

I for one dont find 14.3 impossible. Is it hard? damn right it would be! but there are cars known to be "factory freaks", who knows maybe he has one and one hell of a driver mod! practice makes perfect

That's what I'm saying. My friend ran 14.3 once and then rest of his runs we're 14.5-14.6.

im a 2.4 and with just intake, downpipe, and catback i was able too only lose by a car length to a 350z from a stop to about 75mph. id imagine a fully bolted and tuned 2.2 would be just as quik as me. both our cars were standard, i dont think he was a very good driver though cuz i launched harder then he did lol.

My completely stock 2.2 was about a car length behind a 350z with a loud ass dual exhaust.

I saw a 2.2 bolted go 14 seconds once, after the mustang in the other lane got behind him and pushed......

I think its possible. Maybe a very high 14, but possible.

maybe huckernage can post up in here.....? i believe he hit low 14's with his 2.2 cammed/bolted/ and tuned Ion

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-2l...cammed-249022/

and NWAE Cobalt had just about the same setup bolted/cammed/ and tuned and i believe he was pushing 180WHP, don't remember exactly but here's his build thread

Wow your stock 2.2 is about as fast as a stock SS/TC better hold on to that factory freak.

your funny.

Now, I cant remember what ive said through this whole thread but I dont doubt that a BUILT 2.2 could doit , but not bolted. So i think if a cobalt just has intake/dp/exhaust/2.4 mani/tune its not possible. But if you start getting into head work, cams ect. Then its maybe possible.

and the 5 speeds must be a **** load fast cause my car is slow, it probably doesnt do 0-60 in 8 secs, and its got intake/exhaust/2.4 manifold and hp tune. factory dp/header.

You should have waited to be fully bolted before you tuned your car. Header and DP restrict alot of power. If you plan on making bigger power, Supercharge it and save the hassle on wasting money on 2.2l parts

trans is all stock. I didnt have my tuner tune the trans because i wanted to use the B&M but not one has even looked at my thread on it.

My transmission wiring is different than all the other cars that were at the mod day when we tried probably cause its an 07 and the two coupes i compared were 05-06, or maybe because its a sedan i dont know, all my trans wiring is behind the fuse box and we couldnt get at it. The main wiring harness that runs up front didnt have the colored wires called for in the how to.

my good friend has a 07 2.2 sedan with B&M.. he said it was a piece of cake to install... I'd have to ask him for a picture though, as I never actually looked at the wiring myself

B&M makes a HUGE difference on the autos

I wasn't lying... we started from a roll, about 15-20mph and then floored it. I'm also an automatic.

Was gonna say, I ran 14.0 @ 107MPH... the trap speed is more indicative of the HP, the ET is more indicative to how its hooking up.
