So of GT-S's... 2000 is the one you want.
I might be wrong. Guy at work had a 2000 GT-S. He told me that.
Off topic...just at CSS.NET in general... I'm kind of curious why we are showing love on the Celicas and always hating on RSX-S and Civic Si's? Similar basic target for car performance using similar means.

I'm not TOTALLY familiar with Celicas but those redlines were only true of 2000 Gt-S's... correct? They lowered them in 01 I think.

oh so true.. my celica is the 2000 model. they actually changed the lift engagement in the 2000 models that were produced after october 99 from 6k to 6.2k. if my memory serves me correctly the last year models were 6k lift and rev limit 8.4k. could be wrong. now to the reason celica's get love and the others don't.. well its very simple. they are hondas and 9/10 of their owners are full of themselves. toyota peeps are understanding when it comes to the limits and what they can beat/lose to =)
just what i have observed

I honestly didnt notice you had a 7th gen, I thought you had an older model Celica, LOL. I figured you'd be putting out more power than you are with a turbo and other mods. I know of a few guys putting down 190-200whp N/A. Either way, 230whp and only 2500lbs, you'll be flying away, LOL. Got any pics?

What mods are on the SVT Focus? Stock for stock the GTS should walk all over an SVT Focus, that's if the Celica is a 6spd. Is this guys a 6spd or auto? Either way, it takes a good driver to drive the Celica right. Just so you know, a good driver in a Celica GT is a dead heat for your Cobalt, aslong as yours isnt modded.

Umm, there have been stock Celica GT's to run faster than a 15.8, LOL. You must not know **** about Celicas. I know of atleast 2 Celica GT's with a turbo running in the 12's and tons more in the 13's.

I had a 2001 Celica. It's been awhile, but I think 2002 was the only year for the 6200rpm lift engagement. They called it the "plaqued '02" because if you shifted at redline (8200) you couldn't land in lift. They fixed it in "03. The '04's went Drive By Wire which kinda screwed things up as well. My 01 was a GT, so I'm pretty rusty on the lift thing since I didn't have it lol. Even though, the car was pretty fun and I loved the way it looked. A 5spd GT should be high 14's though, that much is true, and the slowest of the bunch was an Auto GT-S as was already mentioned. They were dogs. You guys remember Everythingcelica?

Go here: www.newcelica.org and on the left hand side look at the 1/4 mile time thing and click it, then it has a list at the top of each Toyota car and others listed 1/4 mile times. Check out the Celica GT and GTS.
