id suggest driving lessons first. Not even trying to knock you, but seriously it'd be money well spent to go to a racing school.

yea but launching ability and controlling your car is not just a factor at the track. Probably even more so on the street

A. for safety reason.
B. because r/t counts on the street, you are going to have different conditions to launch in, etc.

seriously it is well worth the money. Back when i lived in michigan i went to mid-ohio advanced racing school and i came out a much better driver all around. even if you don't think you will gain from it, you will considerably, and it is TONS of fun.

yea i'm sure they're faster than the 2.2's the best my car has ever ran was a 16.2 and that was on a coldddd night with really good r/t from my brother.( I live in the south, it's usually always hott, but i'm running it again next friday)
There was a 2.2 stock sedan that hit 16.8 and i was impressed lol
I have no doubt the celicas beat 2.2's.
i DO have a doubt, if you were talking about the 01's, that they run 14.6..that's complete bullshit imo, theres no way theres a 1 second difference in times whether a magazine posts it, plus, as i said before, the kids in my town are running low-mid 14's with superchargers/turbos on their celica gts'.
So theres no way they run 14.6 stock...i've seen 2.4's(manual) take them with some mods, and theres no way a 2.4 cobalt is running 14.5.
This is just talking about the 2000-whatever gts' though.

if that were true, saying that the "magazine racers" don't know what theyr'e talking about, that'd be saying that there's a .9 second difference in the 1/4 just due to a driver mod..that would be saying what, a stock cobalt could run 13.7...and that's just
I'm not just a magazine racer, i'm at the strip almost every friday saturday and sunday looking and talking to guys about modding, racing, drifting, etc. I've also taken 2 automechanics classses( don't bash lol)
I know what they run...i know that a 14.6 is EXACTLY what the local ss/sc's run at my track, theres 3 that run almost every friday and always land in the 14.6's unless they miss a gear or spin and then they end up in the 15.2 area.

hahah funny you should say there is no way there can be a .9 sec difference because....

"SS/SC ,STOCK,THE WAY IT IS FROM THE FACTORY
1.)madeinUSA,14.06@99.34 w/2.18 60'"

http://www.modernracer.com/chevroletcobaltsssup.html

"0-ź mile : 14.9 sec @ 95.5 mph"

hmmm.... LOL!

yah idunn when i was at the track there were about 3 or 4 ss/sc all of which were stuck in the mid 15s so because thats what i saw its not PROBABLE for the cobalt to hit 14..lol wow.. your reasoning is lame
im probly the only one on here who owns both cars in question and yes they are 14s stock..
