Challenger SRT8
Well tonight i beat a Challenger SRT8 it was close his front bumper was at my rear bumper and i was still pulling a little at the end of the 1/4 mile.
But a win is still a win the guy was baffled and looked a little pissed lol i would be to if i just got beaten by a 4 cylinder car if i had a SRT 8 Challenger.

At the track down here in SoCal and in Vegas my stock SS Turbo traps a few MPH higher than the Charger and 300 SRT-8s and the Challenger weighs a little bit more than those cars. We need a few more reviews, but it won't surprise me if the new manual trans option won't be significantly faster than the slush box, although I'd still get the track package with the stick if I ever bought one. They're pretty heavy cars but dang if they don't have some nice lines.

I'm from PA, a lot of farm/country boy wannabe's. I have been wanting to pwn one of the R/T's driving around here for so long. At the farm show and a few other events you should see all the Challenger nut-swingers that obviously haven't done their research cuz they don't seem to realize that they are SO slow for the price tag (mid to high 13's). They are heavy as ****.
The srt-8's are much faster than the R/T's, so extra kudos to you.

Actually, Challenger weighs the same as the Charger/300C. 4100lbs for all three. The Challenger needed extra structural beef for side impact that upped the weight, according the SRT engineers.

Key word in your post is "magazine" and key words in my post were "down here in SoCal and Vegas". I'm sure there's other tracks across the country where they run quite a bit faster, but not here. While E.T. is a good indicator of driver skill, trap speed is much more indicative of the power the car is making on that particular day and track. And around these parts those larger displacement, naturally aspirated V8s don't hold an advantage in trap speed (although their rear drive nature can be a benefit in sixty foot and who crosses the finish line first).

I used the term magazine because usually they don't have the best times, meaning there are other drivers who have gone even faster stock. I can go get those times if you really want? By the way dry air that is out there is better for engines then humid air in other parts of the country; so that is one less thing fighting against the motors.

There's more to it than just altitude. The temp and humidity can also play a large part in density altitude, or the "DA", which can vary by track. Hence why some tracks in places like New Mexico and Colorado can swing from being not as bad as you'd think to extremely poor conditions depending on the day and conditions. I drag race a lot and I'm telling you what those cars stock run on average at the tracks I race. Since this is war stories, I'm not sure how much time slips, videos or pictures would even matter so I'll just leave it at that.
Again I'm comparing two cars at where I race. I've no doubt they trap much better other places across the county but if you think magazines or other track results mean a car will perform identically anywhere you could be in for a surprise.
