The first video I posted had a clip of the cobalt running a g8gt, but that was just an intro kinda thing. The two runs in the video are a little further ahead. The video I posted further down in this thread that was at night was a couple years ago when I was JB4 and intake and Hugger was muffler delete and GMS1.

Third is sadly going to be a higher roll , on the stock trans like 60ish, hell, MAYBE 50, its been a while since I was on a 3.83. a 40 even with wheel spin shouldn't be too bad though either.

Sure I can try to convince him of some stuff. There are some great options coming out and currently on a market that will keep him nice and reliable.
It's been kinda nuts, but this week i'm working from home due to the holiday. Will be out there the next 3 weeks though. It's tuff trying to do anything with my travel schedule, If you are available thursday night we might be getting together at BWW on 59 in shorewood. Maybe a 60 roll would be better for him. We will do a 3rd gear at 60mph and a 2nd gear at 30ish.

Gopro is charging. Haters be hatin', and bimmers be, i dunno, beaming?!?

Not bad gents!

I can honestly say that 45mph and 3rd gear is not beneficial to Jay at all but I understand why you guys were trying to take the variables out of the equation. Best thing to do IMO would be to run from 60-120ish starting in 3rd and having Jay NLS 3-4

Jay could also start higher up in 2nd gear, say 50mph and see if that helps with traction? Either way, it's definitely running harder than GMS1.

Car moves out Will! Liking that liquid gold, eh?

Jay, you need to get some damn tires man! And some E....

The bimmer has never been meaner than when it's on e85 thats for sure. Sounds like a plan doing 60-120mph in 3rd. Is it ok to NLS with alot ot the torque management disabled? We weren't all that sure. I'd imagine it would be worse on the drivetrain to do it 1-2 or even 2-3.

What kind of timing are you running in that beast through the mid-range? It runs a whole hell of a lot harder than the first encounter for you and Jay! Curious to know what your boost peaks at and what you carry to redline?

We've really tamed the mid-range spike on Jay's car and I don't think it would hurt anything since he's running the stock clutch still but I definitely wouldn't recommend running around and NLS'ing all the time, especially not 1-2.

NLS only for when it's necessary

During the tunning I was logging for timing correction which you know that e85 works wonders for letting you get away with much more timing than 93oct will afford. Going back and looking at the logs I'm sitting at anywhere from 12-14* throughout the pull. Boost wise my car is set more for midrange than peakyness so I short shift at 6000rpm as boost drops off to 7000rpm redline. My best times come from short shifting so that I stay in 16-17lbs of boost. That's probably why in both runs I pull away early while Jay has a better top end to keep me from further pulling away as speeds got higher.

Maybe now people sill stop thinking an HPtune is a ZOMGWTFFBBQHP tune that will destroy all others! But i seriously doubt it!
Stock to gms1 was night and day...but gms1 to hptune was night and day again. I personally dont think and I know i cant destroy all but I went from gms1 getting raped by my buddies 5.0 to a hptune that had me pulling on his 5.0 and so that was ZOMGWTFFBBQHP enough for me. Huge difference

I like the white SS/TC sedan.

Hey Hugger, you could go with something like this for your e85 needs.
Even made a nice little skid for it to sit on.

e46 m3's aren't exactly fast to begin with and don't respond like turbo motors do, but I wouldn't go lumping in all models.

stock they come in with over 360bhp, like i said tuned and on nitrous he was at 420+ and weighs the same as I do. I also had a passenger he didnt. his car has run high 11's all day long and is trapping around 125. So out of the bmw's ive ran, and ive run all kinds including your model he is by far the fastest. The balt doing 45 in third is a snail re- run him in second and even with his minimal mods u will be surprised

This wasn't lets see who's faster race. It was a comparison between tunes in a controlled run. I understand the concept. But a wrong gear is a wrong gear regardless of tune. Call me crazy but... I feel no difference bogging my car off the line with the trifecta tune over the stock one. The car still pulls slow as ****. Now i prolly should stop drinking in the morning. And i should stop taking that big bang show so seriously, but im feeling smart today. And I think im right.

So you are telling me that your 117mph trapping cobalt is walking a 125mph trapping m3?

Exactly, someone gets it and this was only for testing. We are going back and running them again ***** out and since others feel oh so confident that he will walk my ass terribly maybe I'll just leave the e85 in the tank and run what I brung.

How well do you guys think it will work out if I ran him from a dig?

lol, well if the cobalt guys aren't going to play nice how about we play who can hit the best 60' on stock rubber?

Hugger if you have the time I'd look into scoring a cheap pcm. Worst case scanario is that it doesn't work and you'll have to swap back, but even then it should work A-OK.
