seeing as how its an aftermarket motor, its probably the b18c5, thats if the person who did the swap had a brain. if its that motor hes going to surprise you on how fast the na motor is, your still gonna smoke him though

if its B18c5 which is a ITR (Integra Type R) motor, he will more than likely beat you if your stock, due to the Power to Weight ratio between the two cars.
If it is a B18c1, you will have a better chance if both are stock
B18b, (Integra LS motor) you will beat him, if its stock. If it has a VTEC head on it, it might be closer race, but you will probably still beat him
A lot of the outcome will depend on who is the better driver.

the H22A is garbage! that motor is so overrated I don't see why everyone wants to put one of those in. If he's racing an H22 he'll walk all over the Honda. But with a B18c then it might have a chance. You'll have to have a superb launch for this race. It should make for a good race if it is B18 vs ECOtec

You obviously know nothing about honda engines but thanks.
If you want a better chance at winning you're going to have to go from a high roll where the better gearing and power-weight ratio advantage is reduced.
If its the b18c1 you'll walk it.
If its the b18c5 it'll put up a good fight and possibly creep on you
If its the H22A, he's wasting his gas on you.
If he's got a K, he's wasting his gas on you

B18A or B18B without a VTEC head N/A will be slow
B18A/B18B/B20 with a VTEC might be a surprise
B18C1 is pretty decent, could be fast it modded moderately
B18C5 pretty damn quick
I personally have a B18B non VTEC engine in my Integra, but I have a 16G on it pushing 15psi and it's a force to be reckoned with. My Integra is also gutted and really light too.

my neighbor has a B18 type r with port and polished head, full valvetrain, stage 4 clutch, and all the bolt-on goodies. He's running mid-high 13's right now and gets power all the way to 8600rpm's. It redlines at 9000rpm. This thing rapes everything in town and its dead silent under 3500rmps

wait a minute. i've raced a few preludes before and have had no problem pulling on them. what year did they start putting the h22 in them? im pretty sure the ones ive raced were h22 cars, they were both like 01s i think

I wouldnt worry about it too much. Its almost impossible to tell how fast it is. It could be anywhere from low 16's to low 14's it just depends on the condition of the motor, the weight of the car and the amount of modification to the civic.

if you had no problem with them, then they more than likely was running an H23A which really does not compare to the H22A in power.

H22s are good, powerful motors. One of the main reason I never looked into buying one (other than the unattractive appearance) was the fact that even though H22s make more power than most B-Series engines, the after market supported compared to a B or K-Series (and ****, even a D series) is considerably weak.
