Exclamation cobalt 2.2 VS mustang 5.0

well last night i raced a 5.0 mustang just for the hell of it and i actually WON! i was no way but i did i was in awe. but he did give me a 1 sec head start but he didnt even get closer, beat him by like 1.5 car length. just thought ill share the pride of having a cobalt beat a 5.0, peace.

Sure you didn't race one of those rare, but ultra-economical 0.5 Mustangs?

yeah i completely agree. ive had my share of 80's car's and just cause they have 5.0's doesn't mean they're fast. my 5.0 monte ss was the slowest piece of **** ever. and would have got owned by an ls cobalt

I'm not suggesting this didn't happen, by any means... there are some dang slow ragged out 80's 5.0's, but that's a overgeneralization if I've ever seen one. BONE STOCK 80's 5.0's have gone faster in the 1/4 than ANY stock Cobalt SS/SC that I know of.

well if it was a 5.0 fox body, he either wasn't trying, or he just went from 1st to 5th lol. It was probably a 4 cylinder fox body. a kill is a kill and if he was racing and you beat him you beat him. I am not saying it wasn't a 5.0, i'm just saying it is highly unlikely. they are high 14's cars stock.

Totally uncalled for. If you dont believe him, say it, dont bash the car. There are alot of other 2.2's on this site that take offense to that type of thing...

Here we go again....

But anyways, yes, the 5.0's WERE fast stock. But put 25 years and 150k+ miles on them, on any engine for that matter, and the results will be quite different. I'd beleive it, especially with the head start.

aww my comment was totally un-called for, my bad, wasnt trying to be harsh, but theres some people that needa learn that their 2.2 isnt fast, maybe its just where im from? all these 2.2's trying to race me, who knows, i was aggrivated early when i posted that, so im sorry nice win, but i really doubt it was a 5.0, even of the age, maybe the driver really sucked, who knows,

NO cobalts are fast stock... the 2.2, 2.4, and 2.0 are slow from the factory... sorry, but anyone that considers mid 14's a good time need to either stay away from the track, or go more often... getting sick of these types of posts...
