Well, there are certainly ragged-out cars that don't run well, and that's why I said I totally believed this could happen, but the guy said:

ugh, never said the 2.0's are fast either, 14's are terrible times for a supercharged vehicle, just didnt wanna start a riot there, never said it was slow or fast, so u needa watch what u say before you jump into conclusions, pay attention,

seriously.. some of you people dont know much about 5.0s especially quoting times that are off.. when i picked up my 88GT it had 145k miles on it completely stock.. ran a 14.7 with a shitty 2.3 60'.. i dont see 16s there... and thats pretty much your avg time for a 5.0 5-Speed with limited traction

I was stating if it was an old beat to **** one... I"ve seen them run mid 16's./.. in good shape new I think they were mid 14 sec cars (on street tires of course) I had an 89 gt so I do know what they run... the best I pulled off stock with sllicks was a 13.9....

haha... don't know where you're getting that from... i'm not hurt at all... i could have gotten the ss if i wanted, but figured it wasn't practical for what i was looking for... i'm not looking for a 2.0 vs. 2.2 flame war, those are gay... and, i believe you started by saying the 2.2's are slow... get a life bro

i wont say its not possible for a beat to **** one to run those times but it would be an AOD with more then likely a dropped cylinder to run that time..i have seen so many 5.0s run at the strip i can honestly say i have never seen worse then a 15.4 (car held back.. not driver suckage) unless its elevation differences which i can see.. i run out of Atlanta dragway.

either way though i am talking about your Average car here.. every car has beat to **** lemons and then the abnormal freak cars.. both are not what you normally see daily so there times really hold no weight... this could of been a beat to **** lemon.. personally i think this is pretty much the dumbest post ive seen on here about a kill.. your talking a 215/225 hp 300 tq car loosing to something with a motor equivalnt to a lawnmower..it was probably a 4-banger fox,

..but if you are going to quote avg times.. do if for Average cars seen.. which i know sure as hell isnt 16 secs.. and if you do state that as an avg.. your just setting people up for an ass whooping.. id love for some douche to come up to me and think my 5.0 runs 16s.. lol ill give them an 10 car length start with that kinda thinking

A stock one with no DRs will run about low 15s all day long around here. I saw stock SE-Rs stay neck to neck with one just last week.

Yeah, I wasn't sure exactly what you were saying, so I was just clarifying. Also, I agree that if it's a totally beat-up automatic or something, a 2.2 may be able to end up on top... especially with a head-start.

Even a 2.2 would put buslengths on an N/A 4-banger Fox. I know... I have one. I honestly can't imagine anything being slower.
