Cobalt GM2 with 2.8 vs. New Evo MR

Well I am driving down the road and I see this pack of cars coming up fast. So I lane over and let them stack up in traffic. I see this nice new evo MR with a new car temp sticker in the window. Young kid was driving. I played a little and found that he was game. I let him pass then punch it and real him in and then hang there for a wile then I start passing him. I would say that in 3rd we were dead even but in the higher gears I had the advantage. From a dig I bet it would be a different story but I will take the win. I got the typical thumbs up when we parted ways.

I heard of other people hear talk about betting evo's from a role and I did not think it was possible until know.

yea true. young kids have no clue how to mash the pedal on a roll.

Dig you can blame the driver.
roll? your gonna have a hard time putting a win down to driver on a roll.

unless he missed a shift. which you would have noticed.

good kill.

I def think it is a good win...but i think that if the kid driving was serious he would've atleast been even. and on a roll if you decide not to shift the car he might have been caught in lag...little, but enough that it would be hard to catch and pass...I am not knocking anyone...good win

Lets not make this into a role racing gay thing thread. That's been said enough. And the young guy was going for it. I let him pass me first the I pass him. Kind like the no fly by trick. Its all good though. This just proved to me that a cobalt ss/sc with stage 2 and a 2.8 has more top end getup and go power on tap then the stock evo did.

Nice kill! I've knocked off a stock 2003 Evo with my stock SS/SC so I knew it could be done... just haven't heard of anyone doing it to an MR yet.

power wise the MR doesnt make more power then the regular evo, or evo rs. the difference in power depends on the year; 03-04 about the same, 05 a little faster then the 03-04, and the 06s(evo IV) are def. faster then the the VIIIs.

Yes, but on the Evo IX's, gears 1-5 are basically the same...

Why does everyone have to start with roll racing sucks whenever a roll race takes place and is posted about?

With the exception of the stupid roll race videos on the internet most are not preplanned or set in advance.

98% of my roll races have taken place while I was just driving around town or the highway. Just cruising around and someone pulls up plays and I play back, quite fun really no finding a road to race on and no delay in my travels.

Around here there is a abundance of 220WHP Mustang GT's with drag radials thinking there big **** from a dig.

I ran one, EVO IX, and I got him off the line he also reeled me in after that (I ran a 14.x and he ran a 13.x). He was shocked to say the least. Evolve is the guy on here that owns one and watched it. We have it on video somewhere too.

I just had an intake and exhaust.

nice race next time you will need to have a signature, breathalizer test, fingerprint, eye scan, blood sample, compency exam, urine test, physical, hand eye test, shoe size, driver height, driver weight, driver age, dna test and a 9999 point inspecation of the car in order for some people to believe you beat an evo cus the fanboys sucking on the evo's exhaust will always love to rain on the parade.

id say good run!!!! if it was VIII u woulda really walked on it but the new IX's are faster than the VIII's. problem with EVOs is when are they ever stock? when they have a window sticker. once they take that window sticker off they instantly gain 20whp. hahahhaa (hope nobody takes me seriously)

omg are you serious? I think I will go find my old window sticker then leave it on for 2 weeks then take it off so I can get the same power WOW!. You know I also heard that you can gain 5whp from leaving your dealership decals on. What a bargain.

But it's true nearly all the evo's I see are modded at least with a bov and or custom turbo back exhaust with the uber fart can.

Same thing with srt4's....Shyt, 4 days of owning my car, I installed my amplifier and subwoofer. After 1 week and a half, I installed my Magnaflow catback. It took a while to get the other parts on though.

Edit: Obviously my amp and sub is not a power gain...but i'm just saying that I put aftermarket equipment in my car right after purchasing it.

yea its taken a while for me to do some serious performance mods, due to the clutch and me buying other things like my tribal back tattoo, bowling ball, vacation, many cases of beer, etc.... but in due time
