Cobalt SS/NA vs New Civic SI!

This seems to be a epic and personal battle for me to win, let me explain.

durning highschool i was portrayed as the kid with the fast car at my school (one kid had a new GTI but his parents bought it for him so i was cooler) anyways, one day a girl i knew's boyfriend pulled up in a civic SI (new one, white looked nice) so she proceeds to tell me and everyone else that her boyfriends car could waste mine in a race, i said it probly can cuz it did cost 8,000 dollars more then my car. well fast forward about six months to my grad, i am outside talking to the guy in the civic (me and him are...kinda friends? at this point) so we are talking cars and of course the conversation gets to "my cars faster then your car but we should race" so i let him know what i have done to my car (intake, muffler) and he tells me he has a intake and is looking at getting a kpro tune or something. ok now its summer, i got some more goodies on my car (short shifter) and a header/downpipe on the way, i bump into this guy everywere and he always wants to race, but i am always with my girlfriend and i dont like racing with her in the car incase something happens and i injury or possibly kill her.

so what do you think my chances are? a intake/h/d/e sts cobalt vs a civic with a intake??

I'll give the nod to you if those 2.4 intakes give the gains I've heard they do, and you nail the launch. Stick it to him and shut his GF's mouth, sounds like she has a big one.

And where did you go to school where an SS N/A was the fastest(ish) car in the lot? My highschool had a dude running a built, boosted T/A that would make a big-turbo SRT-4 **** its pants (this was in '01).

If it's a dig race, you should take him by half a car.

If he requests highway run, just say no and start laughing at him. Say you only do your races like real men from a dig.

It's going to come down to where and how fast you shift. Have you taken it to the track and if so what where your times?

I beat both a new Si and an RSX type-S with my current setup. It'll be close.

Factory specs mean nothing. Dyno charts and driver skill are the key factor.
