oh for sure, stock for stock i know a SI would walk me, no questions and anyone who argues that is a ******* tard.
mods is the only way a 2.4 can take a SI plan and simple.

i am "aquanted" (spl) with a douche bag kid witha 07 si with minor bolt ons, i raced him the first week i got my ss/sc and he wanted to go from a 40 roll i was at like 3500 in 2nd i think and he damn near launched at vtech i still beat him by 2 and was pulling before he slammed on his brakes cause' " he didnt want to go down hill at 130". i have it on video and a friend as a witness but he still tells people i didn't beat him. next time we race it'll be from a dig cause i know he can't drive for ****, so deffinitly race from a dig.
lol the story was pointless but the kid ****'s me off so i like to vent you know ha

my school had 2 M3's (nothing special), a red Supra TT 800whp, a black supra TT stock, red SS/SC, a bunch of trucks, a Z06, one kid had a Ferrari 360 Modena (his dad is a chair member for AT&T or something), a girl had a supercharged Range Rover, one kid had a Boxter but it kinda sucked, at least 4 Civic Si's with 1 older one, Mazdaspeed 6, 2 people with S14 Kooki SR20's (1 with 400hp and the other with 300), and 1 dude had a KA-T build with just over 300 (also an S14, red 1995). This is only because I live in Alpharetta Georgia though.

If it's a dig race you'll get him by a car IF and only IF you can launch. My buddy could take the new SI's 0-60 in his ******* 00' eclipse GT, lol.
If he's kpro tuned with an intake he should start to reel you in around third gear so get that header on. Either way you can outlaunch those cars easily enough to hold them off in the 1/4. They're very overrated because the only people that think they're super quick stock are the ones that are dumb enough to race one rolling on the highway.

well my friend has a 08 Si and i just have a air box mod and he is stock, from a 60 roll he jumps a bit on me then i am staying at his bumper until 4th then he slowly starts pulling. I haven't raced him from a dig yet. but if you are good driver then you should be able to take him but not by much.

Si ftw. Let me explain why. I was at the track over a week ago doing my regular bracket racing thing. There are several friends of mine who have Coablts that come too. My wife also participates in her SS/NA sedan. There was a new Si sedan, completely stock that came out this night. Compared to my wife (who can race), the Si was about 1/2 second faster. I have another friend with a SS/NA coupe, auto, GMPP header, CAI, shift plus, lowered. The Si sedan was still quicker. I ended being bracketed against this Si in the second round. He dialed a 16.4. I dialed a 15.44. We both got green lights. I passed him before the 1/8th and decided to fender race him after I put his his front bumper between my rear wheels and rear bumper. (squimish people should look away) Big mistake! He pulled on me and had a margin of victory of just 0.02 seconds. I learned a new lesson that night. That is always going to be the one where I kick myself in the butt. I gave him 4/10ths and 4mph because I slowed down to fender race him.

Definitely some misunderstanding of the HP/Torque relationship in here.
The Si is not an easy car to extract it's full potential from, but it is definitely capable of mid-14's, stock (people have claimed low 14's, in fact), if it is kept in it's powerband, therefore using its HP/gearing to its advantage.
That being said, plenty of them run in the 15's because the driver's don't know how to take advantage of it's power/gearing. Then again, there are plenty of SS/SC's that run 15's, too.
I'm not saying one way or the other which car will win... it's probably going to come down to the drivers... My point is that you can't just compare peak torque numbers and say "Oh, this one will be WAY faster from a dig because it's got more torque." Torque is only one aspect of a multi-variable problem.
