Cobalt SS/NA vs New Civic SI!
#103
There are three 2.4Ls around here....and loads of SIs. I hardly see a cobalt daily let alone a 2.4 or SC and the only 2 TCs are still on the dealer lot -- 08 and 09 -- not sold yet. But every day I see SIs...

We understand what you're saying, well atleast I do. Stock vs stock, with equal drivers the Si is gonna win everytime. Now, the difference in driving the 2 is pretty wide spread, meaning yes the Si is alot harder to drive because it counts on the driver being able to land in the higher RPM's on each shift. For the most part, I know of a few guys with Si's and RSX-S', and they all know how to drive and bought the car because they knew it needed a good driver. With you throwing out **** like we all need to grow up, just cut that **** out, it's stupid. We all know the damn reason the Si wins is because of it's gearing and good driver mod, and of course if you dont have the good driver mod in your Si you will most likely lose.

Well i'm just gonna tell you guys this. i have a 2.4 with a custom cold air that i made and thats about it. and the other day i came up on this guy in a Si with from what i could tell just an exhaust. we went from a light and i pretty much just watched him spin his tires in my mirrors. So yes it all depends on the driver because at least where i live the only people that drive civics are little kids with daddys money that really dont know how to drive. So anyways i talked to a buddy of mine that has an SI and we went from the line and i took him off the line than he ended up catching up to me and it was side by side. so i mean it all just depends on the driver

My mistake, you must be modded. I'm just used to people having their mods listed in their sig. Let me find a new Civic Si with the same mods as you and then you can race. Just so you know, I dont have an Si, check my sig.

well.. ours still might be faster ... that adds 40-50 hp.. our kit adds about 70-80 hp to the wheels
from what i understand the pistons in that engine dont appreciate boost too much
but i don't personally know

I know personally of guys with RSX-S' and new Civic Si's with just bolt ons and a tune pushing about 210whp. One guy I used to work with has an RSX-S with a race header, full catback exhaust, CAI and a tune from K-Pro, and he put down alittle over 200whp, not sure of the exact numbers. I would never slap a S/C on a damn RSX-S or new Civic Si, go with a turbo, a nice turbo setup at 10psi would result in damn near 300whp.

And I understand that. Just like I understand that it takes a good driver to get a 14.7-14.8 out of the new Civic Si's. I just hate it that some people cant just accept that some Hondas and Acuras are actually great cars.
