Completely killed an IS300, He was in front of me and we were at a light. He took off and by 60 I was already passing him. I punched it when i took off and so did he. The he was like dam is that the cobalt! and i was like yeaeeeeeeeaaah, i was so proud to own this baby and still am!
Also i took my boys evo 8 with catback, cold air intake and up pipe unfortunately his cars messed up lol. It misfires after 5000 rpm. Oh well i still smoked it!
also a civic SI stock waaaay too slow. I kept walking away from him till 3rd then in 4th i had him by like 5 cars.

It's all-motor. Ported heads and intake manifolds. It's also got a one-off cam. Other little misc crap like intake, PCM, exhaust, etc. I'm glad I gave you guys a laugh

www.n-body.net/registry/xxbackhillxx

The 15.3 time in my registry is only with an intake and cat-back on 18" wheels that weighed 55lbs and I was pulling 2.3 60 footers. I added headers, drag radials, and PCM and ran a 2.1 60 foot with an et of 14.7. Cam, intake manifolds, and heads were added 4-5 months ago, along with most of the bolt-ons available for the LA1. I'm in the low 14's or high 13's, haven't been to the track yet.

Me and a friend did a swap into his Prelude. Basically it comes down to the 2JZ-GTE being able to handle more horsepower and modifications without any 'reinforcement' to the bottom end. ie: pistons, crankshaft, rest of drivetrain.

Nice. Sounds a lot like what I'm doing w/ my 3.8L Mustang. I ran 15.5 w/ exhaust and huge, heavy rims (17x8 Bullitt wheels + 255 Yokos) w/ a 2.331 60' and FL weather, but I've got P&P heads sitting at my house and I'm just days from ordering the cam and Roller Rockers, and then I'll have it dyno-tuned. I will likely add P&P intakes in the future too. With what I am getting now, the intakes, and some gears (3.27's suck) and LSD, I would almost certainly go 13's, maybe even w/o the intakes, but who knows. Anyway, sounds good. I'm excited about all the N/A work people are doing to the V6 domestics. I know there's a 231ci 3.8 Bonneville in the 10's or 11's, and there are other similar 3.8 Mustangs, though most of the fast domestic 3.8's are F/I.

Well, now that we've gone sufficiently off-topic, Nice kills. Just be careful w/ the 99-04 GT's. Mine trapped 100 w/ just exhaust in 90-degree weather w/ unbelievable humidity.

Now, back to the Cobalt kills...

Yea, there are also a lot of SC'd Grand Prixs running in the 10's with some crazy slicks on the verge of breaking into the 9's (all with sponsorship money of course )

I still haven't gotten it dyno tuned because the guys who make our PCM's have shitty cust. service and never return my calls. The shop is only 40 minutes from where I live too. Only other thing I need done is a pulley set, which doesn't exist yet, but I'm working with another guy in Ohio to get a few one-off sets made.

Good luck with the stang. I've seen a lot of those ****'s (V6) get well into the 14's with just bolt ons.

That's cool. Blainestang. I used to own a '00 v6 mustang 5-speed w/ a vortech blower. Loved that car . Then I bought an '03 SVT Focus, which was a blast, now I have this badass SS

But, i know you probably get a lot of **** from v8 guys..i know I did. telling me what a waste of time it was to fix up a v6, blah blah blah

Sweet. How fast was your V6? I imagine that until you get some mods on the SS, that the Mustang was faster.

Oh, and most of the guys I know that have V8 Mustangs are my friends and they know what the V6's can do, but there's always the V8 guys that say the V6's aren't "real" mustangs or whatever, too.

Anyway, I'm a die-hard Ford guy, but I'm glad to see all the fast domestics out there, whether they be a chrysler, chevy, whatever. Good luck w/ the SS.

I never took it to the track, but it dyno'd 274rwhp on only 9 lbs of boost, and stock engine!

Nice. Ever checked out Velocity Mustang Performance's V6. It has a bone stock LONGBLOCK w/ a custom Twin-turbo kit running 17psi and the best tune ever. He's gone 10.9's @ ~130. Pretty dang impressive.

Damn, that's insane! I was thinking of putting a 4.2L back in the day, but then i thought, hell no, I'll just drop a 4 valve modular in there instead

I will have to say the Cobalt SS looks sweet! FROM THE OUTSIDE!

Kills so far

2 Cobalt SS 1 Yellow, 1 Red

First was at a stop light for about 1/8 mile was ahead about a car length before the next light.

Second on on the highway rolling at about 55 with the AC on FULL! saw two kids in a SS laughing. Running side by side at about 55 he pulled on me for about a tenth second as he jumped first and that was about it, he stayed close but a car length and a half ahead of him.

Cobalt is a nice car but the SRT4 still will have more power

But of course we still support the Cobalt SS and GM attempt to get into the import market!

My SRT is Stock, we are in Cincinnati if anyone ever wants to go out to Tri-State we would be glad to meet up and get some video for the forum!!

Hey.. let's not forget passangers make a difference. An extra passanger is an extra 200lbs(give or take). I would expect an SS with no passengers to beat an SS with passengers let alone an SRT-4 with none.

Try driving down Dunlap about 5:45 in the morning

Although, I'll be taking my car down for a few days... I just got word that my new turbo is ready for pickup. By the end of the week I expect to be finished, dyno-tuned and pushing in excess of 400whp.

Actually, I'll be hitting Speeworld, possibly this Thursday Night, if not, then next Thursday Night, if you're interested. I could probably get a couple (one at least) stock SRT-4's to show up too.

Just don't expect stellar numbers this time of the year...

What? You think I'm a *******? I'm not gonna race a 400hp car I wish Kenne Bell made a 2.0L blower for the SS Now that would be some serious ******* boost!

I have a feeling we'll be meeting on the street one day! We're so close, yet so far! Anyways, I'm thinking of going to the car show at "the pavillion" in two weeks on Indian bend, in Scottsdale. I'm sure you know where that's at. We can meet there if you want Just let me know.

Actually if you've never been to a street night at one of the local tracks, it's pretty interesting. You can choose to line up against someone (usually easier at Speedworld, sometimes Firebird can be a PITA) OR you can just get in the staging lanes and get line up against whoever. I've been line up against everything from an 18 sec Honduh Civic to a low 11 sec motorcycle.

It is alot of fun; usually I'm not even worried about beating the guy next to me. I'm usually more concerned with improving my launch/shifting and trying to get the best out of my car.

I'm planning on heading out to Speedworld tonight, they're running Brackets, but will also have time only lanes open.

I rarely go over there. But maybe I will this Sat Night. Probably I'd show up around 6-7.
