3000gt SLs are slow. too heavy no power to compensate(spelling?)
originally i was just sayin i find it hard to believe. and then to start boasting like you could do it every time just a lil irritating ya know. you may have won that one. but don't get too comfortable. i've race a lambo for a just a couple block with a stock neon SXT. kept up with him because he miss shifted and then slowed down too much in the corners. i drifted to take the lead but once we straightened out he kicked my ass. i've raced an srt-4 stage two. kick my ass. i'll admit to that. thats because he's running about 250-260 HP. with his car lighter then mine. his power to weight ratio is better than mine. i run at about 12:1 Power to weight ratio. and an srt-4 stage 2 had like a 10:1 weight. less power and less weight. which is why he won. and yes i have run for slips before out in new mexico. and arizona. but not with my car. me and my friend roll in a truck on the strip. you have to know you can out run most cars to race for slips. cause one mistake you loose everything. people do race for slips still just like in the old days.
i'm not tryin to be an jerk or anything like that. just stating that it's rare. and hard to believe.
ehh i'm getting rid of my 3000 anyways. it's annoying now. i'm getting a FC3S or an S14. can't decide.
i look at things more than just horsepower. i look at different aspects of everything. don't worry won't jump on anyone anymore.
i like the cobalts cause with a phase 5 single turbo I-4 can generate 535HP and run a 7.4 in the Quarter. and a 900HP VR-4 will run a 9.6...mid to low 9's. i'd rather have a single turbo easier to fix and lighter than to have a 900hp twin turbo to work on. stuffs expensive on 3000gts.
anyways i'll keep lookin at what goes on see whats new. later people.

are you being serious about the 3000gt vr4 withn 900 hp running 9.6. i was looking into them said the 0-60 was like 4.9 and the 1/4 was mid 12's stock. dunno if the numbers are bs but if theyre real i dont see a 900hp one running 9.6

most powerful 3000gt/stealth/GTO
1st Hiroyuki Morishita Pit Road M Japan 1996 Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo 6-Speed AWD 754AWHP 25psi ? TD-06L2 20G (x2)
and he runs and places
9th
Hiroyuki Morishita Pit Road M Japan 1996 Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo 6-Speed AWD #1.216 11.230 ? TD-06L2 20G (x2)
thats HP at all four wheels. so usually an AWD can run down up to a 22% decrease through the drive train. if i remember correctly. so yeah. i'll have to find the one that runs nines
so he should be running about 919HP at the motor. maybe a lil less cause it was a estimated 22% decrease.
so there is the HP rating verus drag time.
the zero to sixty is 1.216 according to the charts
they are fast cars with so so money. not like hondas where you do a motor swap motor rebuild to handle high RPMs and gutting out the car. and being uncomfortable.
you can get a 700hp 3000gt VR-4 and run 11s in the quarter and not gut anything out. still have stereo A/C comfortable chairs and a comfortable ride and still street legal and run 11s. just only down side is very costly repairs. doesn't take much to make these high HP just costly repairs and cost.

the white one i have seen many times was on alaminos/benz/copper hill roads
also, any vr4 that is making a good amount more power than stock will not be street legal, streetable, maybe, but not street legal
and that 1.216 is the 60ft time, not 0-60mph time
