Nothing to be ashamed of, it's just what should have happened the other times. Of course you could have encountered a 500 or even a 250 sport bike. Bikes are no joke. If you can pull up next to a bike with confidence, you're sitting in a bad ass whip.

No shame there at all! As stated earlier, PSM and I ran as well and I got my clock cleaned. It was very expected as we were just trying to prove a point about the 600's with a good rider who's out to win and not just toying with someone.

Unfortunately there are a lot of riders out there that don't do them justice. Many just don't like downshifting from sixth to first at 40-50mph because it can be scary if you're not used to it, or they don't think they can drop that far. They don't know how to rev match or they just aren't comfortable punching it in the powerband of the bike because it'll come up on you, even with a 600 if you don't crouch right.

Not necessarily, both are capable of trapping about the same and going all the way to 150 gives the Z the edge north of 100. I would guess the bike had 5+ lengths to a 100 then had that closed to about 2 when they shut down at 150... Your talking about a 3200 lbs car with 470ish whp and the aero dynamics to knock at the 200mph door! Sounds about right to me, if not thinking the Z should have pulled ahead by 150 actually if very well driven.

I've raced several.
1st c6 z06, bike had a filter, 1 down, and 5 up. Stock exhaust. Bike pulled just over a car 5-150. Rolling start.
2nd c6 z06, bike had filter, 1 down, 4 up, and full exhaust. Bike pulled just shy of 3 cars 0-150.
3rd c6 z06 had catback, bike had filter, 1 down, 4 up, and full exhaust. Bike pulled just over 1 car 0-150. Bike also pulled about 2.5 cars 45-150.
Just my experiences...

I had a 2007 GSXR600RR it would run 83mph in 1st gear and easily run a 11 flat in the quarter... and thats only because my holeshots sucked.. from a 50 roll not too much with 4 wheels will hang with a any type 600 race bike.

my friend has 09 r6, just got it a few weeks ago but hes crazy on a bike. raced him from about a 70 roll i pulled on him just a bit then it was pretty much neck and neck untill he got up to 165 and got like 2 car lengths ahead then we slowed down, he said he was really surprised that i could even keep up with him that good and so was i haha.

^ I am not sure what is more funny, the fact you think you stayed neck and neck with a sport bike, or that your cobalt did 165...
Mods on said cobalt?
I wish I still had the vids of a whole series of races between a bandit 1200 (about equal in performance to a 600 sport bike and it was stock) and a modded C5 Z06 (car ran mid 11's at over mid 120's, it was cammed if I remember correctly).
Anyways, there were I think 6 vids starting from a dig all the way to a 90 roll. The bike demolished the car during the first 5 (though the higher the speed they went the car started coming back but being so far ahead it was pointless) from a dig, 20, 40, 50 and 70 roll or so. What was most interesting was the 90 roll, bike jumped out maybe 3 or 4 car lengths but by 130+ or so the car was even and ahead by 150.
Aerodynamics and lack of power is what really hurts 600's above 120, anything below that and even cars that run similar times and traps are gonna get hurt from the slower speeds. But just because it starts to fall off way up top doesn't mean a car trapping 110 is going to pull it from 130-150 though...

It's always fun to mess around even if it is a bike vs a cobalt... As long as you know that you can not go out and race every 600, it's all good. Idk how the guy was riding or what's done to your car so I can't comment or speculate too much... Bit just bare in mind that any newer 600 supersport giving it 100% will walk a cobalt. Nuff said.

Either you were racing a SQUID (somebody who doesn't know how to ride) or a Harley. No way you were racing a real bike. Any CBR 600 worth his salt can pull mid 10's or 11's with a bad rider. I don't have super fast bikes by any stretch of the imagination, but I can pull low 11's on my stock Triumph and mid 11's on my slightly modded Honda all day long. I know all you car guys like to stroke your ego and THINK you can hang with bikes, but that ain't very realistic. Let's do the math assuming that you have tricked out your Cobalt. 2,900 lbs divided by say 320 horsepower at the front wheel equals 9.06 lbs per horsepower. My Triumph weighs 550 lbs (a bit porky for a crotch rocket) and has about 106 horsepower at the rear wheel and is rated at 127 horsepower at the crank. Hmm that equals 5.18 lbs per horsepower. No contest the bike should win. My bike isn't that fast either, a stock hayabusa with the front end tied down will do mid 9's right out of the box.

Actually before you try going all Grammar teacher on me why don't you re-read what you wrote?
"my friend has 09 r6, just got it a few weeks ago but hes crazy on a bike. raced him from about a 70 roll i pulled on him just a bit then it was pretty much neck and neck untill he got up to 165 and got like 2 car lengths ahead then we slowed down, he said he was really surprised that i could even keep up with him that good and so was i haha."
Neck and neck until he got to 165, so you were right there with him until 165. You are another I don't know anything about cars/bikes but because I have a quick economy car I can keep up to next to anyone driver...
Again, mods on the Cobalt? Because judging by your story this "friend" is crazy on a bike (I am guessing you mean he has mad skillz that killz?). Which means he was pacing you for fun not racing. If you have two people racing and one motor vehicle is waaaay faster then the other and you can't tell the other person isn't racing you then you have issues How can you not tell he wasn't, what about the imensely (sp?) slow RPM climb, the short shifting, the rider in the sitting straight up position with his left hand on his thigh?

Did the rider want to race a second time? I bet he did, and you turned it down.
Cause it sounds like that fun little trick we used to play on cars, back in the day.... give them one 'close race'... and let them think they have a pretty bad ass car, then walk the **** out of them the next race.
Either way... the rider wasn't racing to full capacity. If he was actually racing, this thread wouldn't exist.
