Ok guys here is my senerio. I have an 05 Cobalt SS that I am getting ready to bolt a TVS with a 2.9in pulley and 80#ers, also either run E85 or 50/50Meth and after all that fun I will be getting tuned by James. His Cobalt is a full bolt on tc version with a 28psi tune and is currently making 325hp and 414tq. I was wondering what y'all guys had to think about who the winner would be. Race and vids will be posted next month just wanted to get some thoughts on how this might turn out for me.....

Hard to say, ive seen TVS balts beat tuned LNFS and tuned LNFs beat TVS. Im gonna say you since your running E.

Put parts on, race and see. When I was on stock head, 2.9 and 22* max timing (colder weather tune), I raced my friends trifecta tuned 23 psi dp and exhaust TC. First run from 40 I had about a car on him befoere he missed 3rd, then the second run I spun 2nd and he hooked and I came around him about a car by the top of 3rd. I posted the vid somewhere. Ill look for it.

Here is the race. Its at the end of the video at 4:45. Also, at :15 at the beginning is the first run against the TC where I hook 2nd, but you can see when he misses 3rd so I just used it as filler lol.

You don't have the torque that he does. That is why the newer turbo versions are so quick. He will get you out of the whole. Put the parts on and get some video.

Tell u what I think, if he doesn't turn down the boost on that stock turbo a ring land will go boom. Check around. It happens to everyone running over 24 psi on stock

mine never went boom at that psi. ran that tune for quite a while too. It was M-dub's tune, but tweaked for my car.

Comparing 60-100 times from a TVS car to a SS/TC is kinda tough because we dont have the torque spike down low. On a 3rd gear pull the TC might have a faster 60-100 time, but during a race the TVS car may take the win. TVS loves to rev. I do 60 rolls in 2nd gear

Here's a video of me doing a 55 roll against a ~360whp Evo X turbo swapped ralliart on E85. Ran it out to 140. At the track he ran a 12.1 with a 1.8 60' for comparision. He cut a 60-100 in 4.6 seconds when we were tuning with 3 people in the car.
