yup, the guy i work with has a shelby daytona with 2.5, dynoed 308 hp to the wheels, fastest 8 valve in the US. he has a caravan too, that going to get the 2.4L SRT4 neon head swap.

the 8 valve/sohc makes them crazy for tq, but top end hp, expecially with the 2.5 is not there
the 2.2 was a bit better in top end
also the are not cross flow heads either, IE, the intake and exhaust/turbo are both to the back of the head.
my old 87 charger glhs went 12.61 at 112 with a super 40 trim t3/t4, stock IC, header, and a stock size valve mild ported head with a slightly bigger cam. Had JE alum piston with a stock crank and rods out of an 89 daytona.
crank and rods are pretty stoudt stock in them when you get a common block cars.
the turbo dodges can be made to fly cheap
the 2.2 was a bit better in top end
