it depends...from a roll? in the 1/4?

from a roll you'd probably come out on top, the last wrx i drove suffered from so much lag, it was almost stock with just a catback.
and the launch has alot to do with it too...you can dump the clutch in the WRX at redline and bog the engine, or with skillful driving get just a bit of wheel spin and take off. it makes the world of differnce. the wrx isnt as fast as it seems in video games, it all depends on the driver...back to your question though. you should win, easily.

Listen, just cause all you saw is intake and exhaust doesn't mean that's all he's got. I've drivin turbo cars. My last was an srt. I had a stock turbo too, but no one knew that I had bumped the boost up and maxxed out the turbo. All anyone knew was that I had a stock turbo and intake and exhaust, sound familiar? Be careful.

Sounds like he is too stupid to know what is done to it.

My buddy's WRX looks NOTHING like it did when he got it. IIRC he is in the 12s. If this guy is as stupid as you put him off...you should come out on top. Just make sure he doesn't have a huge turbo on it and FMIC...LMAO!

what year wrx?? the 06 model wrx is a bit quicker than the previous years. You'll still win but it may be a little closer if he has the 06.

Everyone, he's going on what his friends told him that don't know what to look for, and what the owner said. Don't go off half cocked man. Like I said be careful. I used to sandbag all the time. Even had friends in on it helping me. Made alot of money doing it. Don't put down any cash.

I get my buddies with turbo back exhaust, turbo up pipe, cobb access port, RA gears and ACT clutch by the end of 2nd gear from a stop. From rolls, I murder him.

You got that.

So the guy who owns the WRX is stupid because the Cobalt guys friends don't know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to Subaru's? I seem to remember a thread about why Cobalts don't get any respect, this intelligent post is a prime example of why Cobalts are regarded in such high esteem.

you "should" walk him in a 40 roll. from a dig, if you can drive, you should start reeling him in around the top of second. but if he has more done to it than you thought, dont be surprised if you get a good look at his tail lights. those cars stock with a boost controller can hit 13s.

I own both a 2004 WRX and a 2006 Cobalt SS/SC. My cobalt SS/SC would eat my stock WRX for breakfast. A WRX does not gain anything from a intake. Where a WRX gains some good "stuff" is from downpipe, uppipe, and exhaust. Even so you should win from a dig or a roll. From a dig you will play catch up for the first 90 feet. A stock WRX has 3 cats BTW.

Just thought I would let you know that I own a 2004 WRX. I also have about 50 passes down a 1/4th mile track with a STi that ran 12.4 E/T.

A stock 02-05 WRX has 3 cats, the 06's and 07's only have two. Doing a TBE and a UP are great things, but unless you have the retune to back it up you got minimal gains in hp with significant gains in spool time. And yes I would imagine your Cobalt would beat your WRX, look at your mods list.

True story, I own an STi. What exactly was the point of telling me that you've made 50 passes in one that runs low 12's? And how does that match up with my post saying his friends don't know their ass from a hole in ground when it comes to Subaru's? Furthermore how does this make the opposing WRX owner stupid?

Yes, I have Cobb Stage 2. My car will never see Race gas though. 12's are mediocre, my goal is 11's. Turbo swapzzorz FTW.

Cobb stage 2 is the shizz. Everyone and their brother out here has Stage 2 Cobb in their STi's since the Cobb guys are from here. I've learned just to ignore them because you see them tearing ass around town (usually some snotnosed high school kid with blonde spiked hair and a sideways hat LOL). It's their ticket, I figure. The one time I did street race though was against this insanely fast STi on the highway...guy had dumped a shitload of money into it, from what he told me. I mean, usually an SS/SC will take one from a roll because of the gearing difference, but I couldn't even catch up. I let off at 100mph (average traffic around here is 85-95mph), and couldn't even come close. It's like as soon as he hit the gas, he was gone. he was football field lengths ahead of me. I don't know if he had Cobb, but good god, he was the fastest ever STi that I've ever seen--on the track or off. Almost made me want to go trade my car in for one after that day.

Gotta tell ya though, I drove with him in it one day--and that thing's gutless below 4k RPM...and if you goose it going around a turn, the ass end slides out wayyyy too much for an AWD. Because of his driving habits, his Falkens were nearly bald though. So that could contribute to the sliding. I tell ya, I much prefer my SS/SC 5k rpms and below. What I love about it is the supercharger is all ***** (until it tapers off up top)

some guy here in town with an SRT-4 is claiming to run 11s with just bolt-ons/Mopar stage kits (4500ft above sea level, so that'd be saying a lot at lower altitude)--he's probably just bullshitting me. I don't know enough about those to decide either way. It's a nice car, though.
