Cobalt tc vs v6 Honda accord coupe
#151
Only makes sense. Stock RSX/8th gen Civic Si makes about 190 whp bone stock(220-230 tuned with bolt ons), so 20 less stock then the SS S/C. But it has close ratio 6-speed manual(which makes a HUGE difference) and weighs 300+ lbs less.
*Insert 20 or so youtube clips of Cobalt SS S/C running K20 RSX Type S and Civic Si, being even or losing.
^Seems pretty definitive to me. :P LSJ barely hangs with or beats Accord V6's little n/a 4 cylinder brother.
LNF is completely different animal. I am considering buying one in the future after driving a modified one. I love the way the drive. It rides better then my Accord while being stiffer, the steering is superb, clutch is short and firm, shifter slots straight into gear with no play, and the sexy sounds of turbo all the time.

So I guess the 20 or 30 or so vids of honda civic si and rsx type s winning were just a fluke of nature then ? Go to 8thgen, go to Acurazine, go to anywhere... You will find more stories and vids and timeslips. I have a friend who owned S/C SS and he was so fed up with it that he traded it for SRT4 Neon, go figure. He liked the LNF but simply didn't want to buy the same car. It's not as fast as it's made out to be. The T/C is faster then what most people think while the S/C is the opposite.
Now I'm not saying the Civic Si/RSX Type S is the faster car stock vs stock or modified vs modified, I'm saying they are right on par(i.e. direct competitor) with LSJ.
Okay any modifed or stock ss s/c in okc area ? Thunder Valley Raceway opens back up in February if you want to wait.

I'd be like congrats man.... you just handed it to a near stock 10 year old Accord with over 210,000 miles.
Really though, full bolt on tuned(with driver mod) s/c would be good race IMO.
.....Or a bone stock LNF. lol
Random Pics.....
Parked next to Casionerd....
Friend's bolt on and dyno tuned 265 whp/258 lb ft 6-speed manual Eclipse. Our cars are dead even 0-135(could not possibly be any closer). Lol.

Hondata just released their first J series Flashpro this month! Thanks for reminding me....

They are slow as crap stock(I ran da corrected time of 14.5 @ 98; yes I ran mag times). I believe it. They feel way slower then they are... because you can't even hear the damn engine(even at redline) when it's stock and the 1.75 inch crushed factory exhaust chokes it. Once you open it up, it changes character completely.

he has dual exhaust and intake lol. https://www.facebook.com/#!/ryan.benedetti.5?fref=ts do a little creeping thats him lol
Looks like something like this....
He has CAI you say ? I can't see that happening since he added foglights.... The filter takes in air directly where the foglight housing is. Did he just change the mufflers out or do a whole system ?

I was using that comparison as a metaphor that the faster car isn't always the one that feels faster. Also to make a possible bearing by comparing Car X(my car) to Car Y(Cobalt SS S/C) by inserting Car Z(SS T/C, 350Z, Eclipse, etc); and therein comparing Car X and Car Y to Car Z, since direct comparison(vids/stories/timeslips=evidence) are not available for Car X to Car Y.
I offered if anyone was in the 405 was able to/wanted to run, because I'm up for it.
So we can have some evidence for Car X against Car Y instead of diverting to Car Z for comparison's sake. Because the whole thread is about Car X vs Car Y.
This is a forum for car enthusiasts alike, that happen to own or be interested in the Cobalt. I fall into one of those 2 categories.

I quoted you asking about my torque curve, not peak torque.
Here's an LSJ with pulley/intake/exhaust/tune. Seems pretty damn close to me. I guess LSJ's have Honda torque too.... but even then the torque curve is not quite as flat as mine.
Here's another bolt on tuned GM Stage 2 LSJ
^I'm at or above 200 lb ft from 2500 rpm to 6250 rpm(in this dyno it is 4000-6000). Once again I don't have full bolt ons or tune or even full exhaust mods, I'm comparing to LSJ's with more mods and tunes to me.

2011 mustang v6 dyno (almost 300rwhp) - Ford Mustang Forums
Makes TONS more power and has almost the same tq/hp. Your honda makes 4 cylinder tq out of a V6, which is pathetic. A sc ss is going to make less tq than a turbo ss because sc's make hp over tq generally speaking. The fact that ur trying to compare a larger displacement v6 to a an sc 4 banger is retarded. You really dont know much about cars do u?

My TC destroys every honda or acura ever released in north america.
This thread is wack. Accords are slow, TL's are slow, and the NSX I raced last summer.. WAS SLOW....
Jesus Christ people lol.. can we move on? There is no race, there is no winning, honda has not made a fast car in decades, accept it, old or new, its gonna be slow, its a honda
